Obituary for Sanchez

Eloy Sanchez, a resident of Belen, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 22, 2001. Born to Jose Manuel and Soledad (Moya) Sanchez. Eloy proudly served his country with the US Navy during W.W.II. He retired from Belen Sand & Gravel after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by one grandson, Jeff Salas; and four brothers, Max, Orlando, Pat, and Evaristo Sanchez. Eloy is survived by his dedicated wife of 55 years, Bennie of the family home; six loving children, Katy and her husband, Art Sidransky, John Sanchez, Annabelle Salas, Eileen Martinez, Andrew Sanchez and his wife, Sylvia, and Cyndy Baca and her husband, David; 11 special grandchildren, Shon, Vanessa and Jovona Sidransky, Kevin Sanchez and his wife, Rosana, Calvin Sanchez and his wife, Kim, Sheryl Salas, Brian Martinez, Monica Eylicio and her husband, Joey, and Leland, Felicia, and Ethan Sanchez; one great-granddaughter, Sonia Sanchez; four sisters, Vina Gutierrez and her husband, Ralph of Belen, Esther Martinez and her husband, Billy of Los Lunas, Emma Gurule and her husband, Osvar of Tome, and Lydia Marquez and her husband, Seledon of Albuquerque. Eloy is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary being recited at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen with Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian Martinez, Kevin, Calvin, and Leland Sanchez, Shon Sidransky, and Joey Eylicio. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Vanessa and Jovona Sidransky, Sheryl Salas, Monica Eylicio, and Felicia and Ethan Sanchez. Romero Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
