Richard A. Portello, 63, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; children, Douglas, Franklin, John Paul and Karen Ursula; and grandchildren, Matthew, Amos, Raymond and Amber. Mr. Portello served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Sears Automotive and a local beverage company. Mr. Portello was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ballard Arie 172. He loved New Mexico. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 17, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Deacon Frank See officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
