Obituary for Hopler

Oliver Edward Hopler Jr., 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1932, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife; Gloria Bloom-Hopler, daughter, Beth Lois Stitt, and son in law, Allen Stitt of California, two grandchildren; Edward Allen Stitt and wife, Vilma, and Yvonne Sousa of California; three great grandchildren, John Allen and Christopher Sousa, and Edward Allen Stitt Jr. Mr. Hopler (Edward) was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosemarie. Edward was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico. He had several businesses and was also a General Building Contractor. He also worked as an engineer for Lockheed Aircraft and Lockheed Missile and Space for 23 years, retiring in January 1971. He was a member of Temple Lodge #6. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 14, 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Chaplain, Paul Gleason officiating. Pallbearers will be, Toby Bloom, David Bloom, Jack Davidson, Jeanne Davidson, and Barbara Steinberg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sandia Hospice of Albuquerque, 4725 Indian School Rd. NE, 87110.
