Obituary for Johnson

Oury L. Johnson, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the age of 91. He was born in Jackson, TN on July 16, 1909. Mr. Johnson lived briefly in Marshall, TX and moved to Chicago, IL at the age of fourteen, where he became a printer's apprentice, and worked in the printing business his entire life. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald, and a daughter, Ann Gladys. Survivors include his children, Debra Goolsby and husband Randy, Connie Johnson, David Johnson, Jim Johnson and wife Bobby, all of Albuquerque, and Oury Johnson, Jr. and wife Gerri, Frank Johnson, Richard Johnson, Robert Johnson and wife Norma, Carol Flak and husband Gene, and Roy Johnson and wife Sharon, all of the Chicago area. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as his former wife, Leola Johnson. A private family gathering is planned. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society of New Mexico. 891-8200
