Obituary for Biro

Frank Joseph Biro, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 50 years, passed away at home on March 12, 2001. He retired after a 30-year career in the US Air Force as a school administrator. Frank was a member of the Retired USAF Sergeant Association, a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Fr. A.M. Mandalari Assembly, and was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He also worked very closely with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Catholic Social Services. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Kilgarif) Biro, of the family home; daughter, Maureen Hodock and her husband, Joseph; son, Frank Joseph Biro, Jr., all of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Katharine, Analiese and John Hodock, all of Albuquerque; and his brother, Joseph Biro, of North Carolina. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2001 at Palm Chapel, Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Father Tom Mayefske at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2001 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, corner of San Pedro and Anderson SE. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in National Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frank's memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society or to Catholic Social Services of Albuquerque, or to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of his arrangements.
