Obituary for Martinez

Felix Martinez, 82, passed away December 30, 2000. He was a native New Mexican, son of Desiderio and Lorencita Martinez, and a Veteran of WWII, serving in France and Germany. Prior to retiring from the City of Albuquerque in 1979, he was a bartender for many years at Fred Harveys Alvarado Hotel and the Coronado Club. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Urioste Martinez; children, Phillip Martinez and wife, Jill, Connie Martinez and husband, Harry, Felix Martinez Jr., and wife, Suzanne, Ernestine Sedillo and husband, Richard, Caroline Quintana and husband, Quentin, Marie Trujillo and husband, Larry, Desi Martinez and wife, Bernadette, Joseph Martinez and fiancée Tresha Apodaca; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Julio Martinez and wife, Clara, and numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Rosary will be recited at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NW. at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2001. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW. on Thursday January 4, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Martinez, Daxton Martinez, Matthew Sedillo, Larry Trujillo Jr., Dominic Martinez, and Joey Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Quentin Quintana, Roman Martinez, Richard Thomas Sedillo, Daniel Trujillo, Vicente Martinez, and Jacob Martinez. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
