Obituary for Stratton

Rebecca J. Stratton, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died on Friday, June 15, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Stratton; daughters, Donna Sue Stratton of Albuquerque and Lucinda Balgooyen of Chico, CA; two grandchildren, brother, George Jones and sisters, Mabel Connor and Marjorie Thompson. She was a very well known artist particularly in the New York area and was prominent in art circles. Rebecca won many awards for her painting compositions, winning 1st place nationally. She worked ten years as advertising manager for Koos Brothers, which was the largest furniture store on the east coast. She even designed furniture as well. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, 2:00p.m. at Carter Hall at LaVida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, with Chaplin Norton Scrimshine and The Very Rev. John B. Haverland, officiating. Burial was held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Full Life Foundation, Residence Assistant Fund, c/o LaVida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
