Alberta A. Bridge, 90, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 23, 2001. She was a long time resident of Socorro before moving to Albuquerque in 1995. Mrs. Bridge is survived by her son, Paul Bridge and wife, Lela of Albuquerque; twin daughters, Geraldine O¯Connell and husband, John of Moriarty and Patricia Preston and husband, Jack of New Laguna; daughter-in-law, Jane Bridge of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren, Jimmy Bridge, Sandra Bridge Reid, Kelly Bridge Leatherman, Gay Lynn Bridge Doty, Thomas O'Connell, Rhonda Bridge Buffett, Rebecca Preston Daw, Sharon O'Connell LaCava, Paula Bridge Sichler, Leonard Bridge, Jr., Duane Preston, Jamie O'Connell, Lester Preston and D.J. O'Connell; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genievive Kranz Clements of Roswell and Beatrice Kranz Crume of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Betty Theodora and Anna Mary; husband, Tommy; son, Leonard, Sr.; parents, Henry and Anastasia Kranz; brothers, Phillip and Leo Kranz; and sisters, Claire Kranz Oracion and Theresa Kranz Jones. Alberta was born in Harbor Beach, MI on February 10, 1911, and moved to New Mexico with her family in 1912 where her father, Henry Kranz was a cement mason and church steeple repairman in Roswell and later a logging and sawmill owner in Pine Lodge. She married Thomas Jefferson Bridge in 1937 in Roswell. They were blessed with six children, three of whom are still living. While in Socorro, Alberta was very active in the Senior and Foster Grandmother Programs for many years. Alberta will be missed by her family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Nicholas Nirschl, Celebrant and great-granddaughter, Jessica Bridge as server. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers are grandsons, Jimmy Bridge, Leonard Bridge, Jr., Duane Preston, Jamie O'Connell, Thomas O'Connell, Lester Preston and D.J. O'Connell. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
