Obituary for Stratton

Rebecca J. Stratton, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died on Friday, June 15, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Stratton; daughters, Donna Sue Stratton of Albuquerque and Lucinda Balgooyen of Chico, CA; two grandchildren; brother, George Jones; and sisters, Mabel Connor and Marjorie Thompson. Rebecca was a very well know artist particularly in the New York area and was prominent in art circles. She won many awards for her painting compositions, winning 1st place nationally. Rebecca worked ten years as advertising manager for Koos Brothes, which was the largest furniture store on the east coast. She even designed furniture as well. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at Carter Hall at LaVida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE., with Chaplin Norton Scrimshine and The Very Rev. John B. Haverland, officiating. Burial of cremains will take place on Monday, July 2, 2001, 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
