Joseph Lawrence Hart, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2001. He was born in Las Vegas, NM, the son of Dennis and Eva Hart. Joe worked in Las Begas for the Meadows Hotel, the Santa Fe Railroad, Charles Ilfeld Co., and retired from the City School System in 1971, having served as Superintendent of Maintenance. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and his wife, Martha. In 1961, he married Doris Dowler, who died in 1994. Joe is survived by his step-children, Mary Jane Miller of Hobbs, NM, Phyllis Dowler of Albuquerque, NM, and Keith Dowler of Rio Rancho, NM. From these step-children, Joe had six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Private interment will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. Sunrise Society is serving the family of Mr. Hart. (891-8200).
