Obituary for Bannis

Antoinette C. Bannis, 84, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1970, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2001. Antoinette was born June 8, 1917 the daughter of Nicholas and Katherine Bereolos Cotsones in Kankanee, Illinois. Toni and her husband came to New Mexico from Minneapolis, Minnesota where they had owned a restaurant. Toni and her husband, Tom traveled the world together. Toni had been an entertainer, known as Toni Cotton. She played in night clubs, and entertained the servicemen at the USO's. She and Tom retired to Rio Rancho. Toni was a member of the Daughters of Penelope, the Philothochos Society, the Ranchetts; Young at Heart, and Project Happiness. Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 1980. She is survived by one Brother, Leo Cotsones of Kankakee, IL; and two nieces, in Sun City, AZ. The Services for Toni will be held today, Thursday, June 21, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High Street SE, Albuquerque,NM with Fr. Mario Giannopoulos officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
