Mary Punda, 90, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2001. Mary was born August 10, 1910 the daughter of Theodore and Pauline Sloviak Zukowska in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mary came to New Mexico from New York. She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Salata and husband, Mike of Rio Rancho, and Margie Magistro and husband, Charlie of Rio Rancho; seven grandchildren, Debbie Garcia and husband, Ron of Albuquerque, Michael Salata and wife, Katrina of Taos, Wally Salata and wife, Sandy of Los Lunas, Cindy Ormseth and husband, Mickey of Las Cruces, Lenore Kozlowski and husband, Gilbert of Albuquerque, Matthew Magistro and Timothy Magistro of Rio Rancho; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitaiton will be held on Monday, June 18, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinmas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. The Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Salata, Wally Salata, Matthew Magistro, Timothy Magistro, Victor Garcia and Vincente Walthers. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
