Lugarda Portillos, age 92, passed away June 15, 2001 in Albuquerque. Lugarda was formerly of Springer, NM. She is survived by her sons, George Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Portillos of Springer, NM, Albert Portillos of Albuquerque, NM, Louis Portillos of Springer, NM, Joe Portillos of Springer, NM and Gilbert Portillos of Albuquerque, NM; also by 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Erlinda Cordova and Antonia Portillos. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Rosary will follow and be recited by Deacon Rue White at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at the corner of Tennessee and Lomas with Fr. Luis Jaramillo officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ciprano Portillos, Mark Portillos, Matthew Portillos, Josephine Garcia, Lila Martinez, Gregg Portillos, and George Gonzales.
