Obituary for Webber

Thelma L. Webber, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, went to be with her Lord on August 27, 2001. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WS. in 1909 and resided in Minneapolis until she married and moved first to Milwaukee and later to Albuquerque for her son's health. She is survived by one son, Claudel Webber of Albuquerque and Elephant Butte, NM; one granddaughter, Alice Macahan of Belen, NM; grandsons, Reed Webber of Phoenix, AZ, and Russell Webber of El Paso, TX; and one great-grandson, Ash Webber of El paso, TX. Thelma was one of the first electrologists in New Mexico and owned and operated"The Blue Orchid Electrologist and Beauty Salon" on Jefferson NE for many years until she retired at age 70. Thelma was active in many Masonic organizations, Royal Matron of La Mesa Ct. #3 Order of the Amaranth, Worthy High Priestess of Albuquerque, White Shrine of Jerusalem #1, Desert Rose Chp. #70, Order of the Eastern Star --Social Order of the Beauceant Assembly #76, Honored Ladies of Ballat Ahyad Shrine Temple. She enjoyed square dancing and, with her husband, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii with square dancing clubs of New Mexico. As a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, her first love was her church and she lived by the old rule"Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy". She enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends--now she is happy in her permanent home. A Rejoice and Be Happy Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2001 at 10:00 a.m., St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Copper and Jefferson NE.
