Charles W. Phillis, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Monday, June 11, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Phillis of Albuquerque; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rector of Denver, CO; son, John Charles Phillis of Taylorsville, NC; daughter, Marian Thompson and husband, Ken of Roswell, NM; sons, Porter Kimmel and wife, Kay of Tempe, AZ and Edgar Kimmel and wife, Linda of Dayton, OH; and daughter, Alice Risse and husband, John of Peralta, NM; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Phillis was a member of Los Altos Church of the Nazarene. Services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Los Altos Church of the Nazarene, 215 Erbbe NE, with Pastor Cecil L. Gray and Associate Pastor Bill Renicke officiating. Private disposition will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, June 13, 2001, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
