Obituary for Marquez

Mr. Ernest Alfred Marquez died on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at the age of 89. Mr. Marquez worked for the AT&SF railroad for 33 years, the Albuquerque Dukes for 32 years and the Albuquerque Fire Dept. for 2 years. He was a member of Machinist Local Lodge 331. Mr. Marquez was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He is survived by his wife, Mary Marquez; his sons, Manuel Marquez and wife, Virginia, Harry Marquez and wife, Theresa, and Robert Marquez and wife, Teresa; his daughter, Ernestine Marquez; sister Adella Benavidez; grandchildren, Frank Marquez and wife, Tina, Anthony Marquez and wife, Debra, Rick Marquez and wife, Julie, Chris Marquez and wife, Monica, Albert Marquez, Geno Marquez, David Marquez, Alfred Griego and Becky Myrin and husband, Mike; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Marquez will be held on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rodriguez at 10:30 a.m. Readings will be by granddaughter, Becky Myrin. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank, Anthony, Rick, Chris, Albert and Geno Marquez. Honorary pallbearers will be David Marquez, Alfred Griego, Gene Romero, Mike Myrin, John Garcia and Mike Garcia. A Rosary for Mr. Marquez will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
