Obituary for Selby

James Reed Selby, 69, of Albuquerque, NM passed away Saturday, June 9, 2001 in Duluth, MN. Mr. Selby was born June 27, 1931 in Sioux Falls, SD to William and Emma (Koller) Selby. He was married to Marjorie Rapp, with whom he had three children, Jamie Lou, Douglas Reed, and David Earl. On June 4, 1998, he married Ann Borgmann. His four stepchildren also survive him, Skip Gunderson, and Jennifer Gunderson; grandchildren, James and Jason Hayford, Andrea, Adam, Luke, Joy, Jon, and Nate Selby, Megan and Colin Hernon, Stephen, Noah, and Matthew Gunderson; great-grandchildren, Jada, Jerid, Samuel, and Emily Hayford; Paul Selby, his brother, also survives. Mr. Selby graduated from Parker High School in 1949, and from Northwestern College in 1966. He was also a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Selby taught in the Minneapolis Public School system for 30 years and retired in 1996 and helped to develop the Human Relations Program. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at Werness Brothers Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at Werness Brothers. A Memorial Service will also be held at Christ Unity Church, 9850 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, NM at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2001.
