Obituary for Shaw

Thomas Wilton (T.W.) Shaw, passed away June 10, 2001, in Albuquerque. He was born December 22, 1913 in Troup, TX. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Gene Shaw; his children, Tony Shaw of Kingsland, TX, Sydney Tregembo of Capitan, NM, Vicki Cook of Hot Springs, AK; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who loved and respected him immensely. T. W. was part of the first shopping center in Albuquerque when he opened Nob Hill Drug in 1947, after moving here from Borger, TX in 1946. He then went on to open Holiday Bowl in 1958 and operated the bowling alley until his retirement in 1976. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed each other while traveling together and then watching their family grow and prosper. He will always be admired by family and friends for his devotion, honesty and character. T.W. was a member of the University Church of Christ and Ballut Abyad Shriners. Services will be held Tuesday, June12, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Albuquerque Christian Childrens Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, 87120. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd, NE.
