Esequiel (Zeke) Martinez, a resident of Las Vegas, NM for the last 20 years and formerly of Wagon Mound, NM. A loving husband and father, passed away Wednesday after a short illness at Northeastern Regional Hospital in the company of family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed his job working with the mentally ill individuals. He also enjoyed fishing and being in the outdoors. He was known to be a very friendly individual and was not a judgemental person. He was a private in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rosary and Mass were held in Las Vegas. Interment was held at 3:00 p.m. September 18, 2001 at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. The family wishes to thank everyone, especially the VFW and Ernest"Chester" Martinez and friends for conducting the Rosary.
