Obituary for Castillo

Margaret "Maggie" Castillo, 82, a life-long resident of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at an Albuquerque hospital. She was a active member of the San Clemente Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul, and was a Sacristan to her devoted church for over 20 years. She retired from the Los Lunas Schools with 18 years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred in 1977; her parents, Tomas and Dolores Chavez; and one grandson, Marcos Medina. Margaret is survived by her three loving children, Arthur and his wife, Antoinette, Juliette Castillo, both of Los Lunas and Anita Medina and her husband, Felipe of Las Cruces, NM; seven grandchildren, Chris and Carlos Castillo, Frank, Anthony, and John Medina, Roberta Larson, and Marta Fitzpatrick; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Lovato of Washington and Frances Gabaldon of Belen. A Viewing will be held on Friday, 6:30 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery, Los Lunas, NM. Pallbearers will be Chris and Carlos Castillo, Leonard Gabaldon, David Lopez, Anthony and John Medina. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
