Obituary for Nizzi

John Umberto Nizzi, a resident of New Mexico since 1946, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2001. He is survived by his granddaughter, Toni Ann Mora and husband, Tom; grandson, John Joseph Nizzi and wife, Monica; great grandson, Johnathan Zachary Nizzi; daughter-in-law, Carol Nizzi; in-laws, Rosemary Nizzi of Denver, CO, Ellen Nizzi of Amarillo, TX, Mrs. Bina Bonacquisti of Trinidad, CO, Mr. Angelo Bracco of Monterey, CA and Albert Bracco of El Paso, TX; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Nizzi; son, John W. Nizzi; sister, Irma Meughini; and brothers, Arthur Nizzi and Victor Nizzi. Mr. Nizzi was born on May 27, 1913 in Modene, Italy and came to the U.S. at the age of six weeks. He attended school in Walsenberg, CO. Mr. Nizzi married his wife, Katherine, on June 23, 1935 at Mt. Carmel Church in Trinidad, CO. He served overseas three years in WWII, one year in the Korean War and three years in the Army Reserve. Mr. Nizzi was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
