Kathleen (Gray) Hume died May 12, 2001 at the family home in Albuquerque after an extended illness. She was born in Socorro, NM on October 13, 1943. Kathleen was preceded in death by her son, Robert; her father, Bainard Gray; and her brothers, Glen, Bainard Jr., Neil, and Jack. She is survived by her mother, Jessie Harris Gray of Albuquerque; husband, Robert Sr.; son, Phillip of Albuquerque; brother, Gordon of Abilene, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen graduated from New Mexico State University and received her MLS from the University of Illinois. Kathleen worked as a librarian at the University of Albuquerque and as a medical librarian at Presbyterian Hospital Systems. She was active in Democratic politics and served as Secretary of the Bernalillo Democratic Party. Cremation has occurred. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2001 at the Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School, 6811 Taylor Ranch Dr. NW. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to planned Parenthood or the Albuquerque Public Library System.
