Lugarda Velarde, 95, born in Abiqiu, NM on May 19, 1905, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2001. Resident of Albuquerque since 1952, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Antonio Velarde. She was one of 14 children. She is survived by five daughters, Lucille and husband, Javier Quintana, Olivia and husband, Darrell Cook, Grace and Ernie Callejas, Judy and husband, Sebastian Chavez, Erlinda and husband, Scott Beebe; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; also a sister, Felice Roybal of Santa Fe, NM. following the cremation, a Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. on January 25, 2001 at the Church of the Risen Savor. 7701 Wyoming NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. following the Rosary by Father Olona interment following Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert, Dave Kevin, Michael, Randy, Andrew, Chris, Kathy and Denise.
