Obituary for Lucero

Alex Albert Lucero, 60, of Albuquerque, passed away on January 16, 2001, peacefully at home. He was born on April 29, 1940, the son of Alex and Anita (Trujillo) Lucero, in Alamosa, CO. He is survived by his wife, Nicki (Rendel) Lucero, of the family home; son, Alex C. Lucero and his wife, Donna, and their children, Cortnee, Scott and Aimee, of North Salt Lake City, UT; son, Mark J. Lucero and his wife, Sandy, of Washington; son, Shawn J. Lucero and his wife, Donna, and his son, Cody, of Albuquerque; daughter Kristy Heinemann and her husband, Alan, and their children Mathew, Ashley, and Andrew, of Woods Cross, UT; and step-son, Michael B. Shirley and his wife, Trish, and their children, Michael and Christopher, of Albuquerque; sisters, Anna Martinez and her husband, Robert, of Salt Lake City, UT; Gladys Gober, of Clearfield, UT; Mary Ann Naranjo and her husband, Chris, of Grants Pass, OR; and Louise Maestas and her husband, Abe, of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Lucero was employed for the past 16 years by City Window Cleaning Company, Inc., which is owned by his wife, Nicki Rendel Lucero. He professionally started cleaning windows at age 14. He was always known to be the best at what he did. Viewing will take place on Friday evening, January 19, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. A Funeral service will be performed on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in Palm Chapel with his son, Pastor Alex C. Lucero, officiating. Cremation will follow and interment will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Lucero's memory to the NM Commission for the Blind, 2200 Yale Blvd SE, 87106. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of his arrangements.
