Obituary for Hindi

Ednen Alex Hindi III, 52, a lifelong New Mexico resident and rancher passed away after a courageous battle on January 16, 2001. Ednen was very involved in the ranching business and he loved and cared for his land and animals diligently. Until recently he operated the family ranch in Duran, NM. Ednen was an active member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers, and the New Mexico Wool Growers. He graduated from Corona High School, in Corona, NM and attended the University of Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico. He was a member of the AKL (Alpha Kappa Lambda) fraternity. He is survived by his four children, all of Albuquerque, who meant the world to him; Ednen William Hindi, Khara Rose Hindi, Amarah Kay Hindi and Jhad Alex Hindi; he is also survived by his father, Ednen Hindi; sister, Sarah Hindi, both of Albuquerque; brother, Robert D. Hindi, of San Francisco; mother of his children, Wendee Burnett; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie R. Hindi; grandparents Thomas D. and Rubye Smith; Alex and Clarita Hindi; and Ray Slaughter. Ranching gave Ednen tremendous enjoyment and we will remember him during happier times, working sheep with his border collies, Kristee and Chuck. He was a very devoted father, brother, and son, who loved spending time with his children and all of his family members. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Transplant Recipients International Organization, 1000 16th Street, Washington, DC 20036-5705. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of his arrangements.
