Obituary for Atencio

Cora M. Atencio went home to be with the Lord April 16, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Toby V. Atencio of Albuquerque; four children, Jeannie Mondragon and husband, Joe of Clarendon, TX; Kathy Atencio, Toby Ray Atencio and wife, Janet, and Richard Atencio and wife, Emma of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Janiah, and Jacob Mondragon, Zachary and Luis Atencio, and Brandy, Jennifer, Taylor, and Quentin Atencio, and six sisters, Elia Trujillo and husband, Steve, Evelyn Castner, Carla Brewster, and Priscilla Brigham of Albuquerque, Rosalie Martinez and husband, Jay of Santa Fe, and Olinda Grimley of LA, Calif. Cora taught at Bernalillo Elementary School for 40 years from 1954 to 1994. She was loved by three generations of students. She taught Spanish at St. Johns United Methodist pre-school for the last seven years. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible school at Second Presbyterian Church and was a deacon there. Mark 10:14 Let the little children come to me. Mark 10:16 And she took the children in her arms and blessed them. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 20, 2001 at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith Blvd NE, at 10:30 a.m.. Gifts should be sent to Second Presbyterian Church in her memory. Arrangements were made by French Mortuary.
