Obituary for Rayson

Edward John Rayson, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Palm Sunday, April 8, 2001 at the age of 73. He was born April 7, 1928 in Hazleton, PA to John Edward and Mary Waldron Rayson. He graduated from Hazleton High School in 1946 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan. He then graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute in Williamsport, PA. He worked for Western Electric and Bell Labs of AT&T as a graphic artist, technical illustrator and supervisor for 30 years in Winston-Salem, NC, El Paso, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, New York City and Teheran, Iran until he retired. He was a member of the Pioneer Fire Company and Christ Lutheran Church in Hazleton, PA. A member of the Augsburg Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem, NC and was currently an active member of the choir at Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Lois Payne Rayson; two sons, John Thomas Rayson and Lincoln Robert Rayson; and a granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Rayson all of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Harrison Richard Rayson of Chalmette, LA; and a cousin, Rev. Thomas N. Thomas of Santa Fe, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward Rayson of Hazleton, PA in 1977, his mother, Mary Waldron Kleppinger of Weatherly, PA in 1994 and a brother, Luther Sterling Rayson Sr. of Winston-Salem, NC in 1999. A Memorial Service will be held on Good Friday, April 13, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church. the service will be performed by Pastor Luther M. Mathsen.
