Obituary for Turman

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 25, 2001

Ruth Blance Carpenter Turman of Lancaster, TX. Entered this world March 25, 1912. Because of her abiding faith in Christ, she believed with all her heart that"Gold so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." She began the heavenly part of her life on February 23, 2001 and is now at rest with her God. In between those mortal dates, she was married to Robert Chester Turman for 56 years. He preceded her in death, but their deep faith kept them connected until she rejoined him. Ruth bore Chester two children, Bobby Neal and Sherrie Elaine. Through her love and nurturing, she instilled in them a love of God, a quest for knowledge, and an enjoyment of travel. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Ruth was a librarian, a Cub Scout den mother, a Dallas Independent School District employee, and a Sunday School teacher. An avid reader, she was able to sample many foreign locations and cultures even when her health failed her and her mobility was limited. Ruth is survived by her son, Bobby Neal Turman; daughter, Sherrie Elaine Archer; daughter-in-law, E. Carol Turman; son-in-law, Charles Archer; grandsons, Stanely Brenton Turman and Richard Brown; granddaughters, Brandi Caroline Turman Mantz and Angela Brown Moser; granddaughters-in-law, Dawn Marie Schwarze and Sandra Santos Brown; grandsons-in-law, Gary Mantz and Jay Moser; great-grandchildren, Christopher Orion Turman, Savannah Elizabeth Desiree Turman, Micah Austin Turman, Denali Madison Noel Turman, Harli Rose Moser, Jay Audrin"J.J."
