Obituary for Benham

Florence Elizabeth Benham was born in Denver, CO in 1914. She spent her early years in Colorado, and graduated from Greeley High School in 1932. She married Robert G. Benham in 1937 in Gallup, NM. They moved to Albuquerque in 1945. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Benham, and their daughter, Nancy Lee Cooper. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Benham and wife, Susan; her daughter, Mary Joan Windes and husband, Thomas Windes, all of Albuquerque; She has seven grandchildren; three nieces; a nephew; one great-granddaughter; and sister-in-law, Virginia Shanks of Denver. Florence and Bob became members of First United Methodist Church and the Questers class in 1945, and have remained continuous and faithful supporters ever since. Florence was active as a Sunday school teacher, and as a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a loyal, supportive and well loved wife and mother, always giving her time and love to her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2001 with Dr. Terry Anderson officiating. Following the service, remains will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Williams, Jim Yeager, Don Williams, Connor Windes, Todd Windes and Alan Benham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dee Ivy Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church, P.O.
