Obituary for Sappenfield

Brett Sappenfield born in Muncie, IN died Saturday, April 28, 2001 of advanced Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) at the age of 28. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Harter; his sister, Krysta Scharlach; and his father, Duane Sappenfield; paternal grandmother; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Brett grew up in Albuquerque but moved to Tucson, AZ in 1994. Brett was a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer, and an A+ Certified computer repair tech. He was employed by the Field Support Team of America Online in Tucson. Brett's dream was to retire early and spend his life traveling the world. Those who knew Brett know that he did not give up his fight with cancer easily. He was a feisty, strong willed person who deserved a full life. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE with Chaplain Brenda Fleagle officiating. Instead of flowers, the family has asked that supporters please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name so that we can help find a cure.
