CANDELARIA, SAMUEL A. "TONY" Samuel A. "Tony" Candelaria lovingly known as "Pops", 81, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2014. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Brenda Candelaria; children, Neil Candelaria and his wife, Alice, Karen Candelaria, Kevin Candelaria, and Kelle Stults and her husband, Rick; grandchildren, Alicia Candelaria and husband, Zach Peterson, Leesha Candelaria, Kyle Dietz, Randon Dietz, Jared Stults, and Zane Stults; great-granddaughter, Chanel Fulton; six sisters and one brother. Pops was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Rogers and his grandson, Casey Candelaria. Mr. Candelaria served in the USAF during the Korean War. He was a mechanic and supervisor for Price's Valley Gold Diaries for many years. Tony was a vehicle maintenance mechanic for 7 Up for 3 years. Upon retirement, he took on the responsibility of school crossing guard, which was his favorite occupation of all. Pops loved the laughter of children. Cremation has taken place and Pop's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23 at 10:00 am at FRENCH - Lomas. Reception will follow. BACA, FRANCES SISTER FMI Sister Frances Baca, FMI, passed away December 18, 2014 at St. Francis Convent, Amarillo, TX. Sister Frances was born July 30, 1915 to Elfego and Ignacita (Montes) Baca in Santa Fe, NM. She is survived by one sister, Sister Viola Baca, FMI, of Amarillo, TX; 12 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Lalo, Benito and Bert, one sister Evangeline Baca, and one sister-in-law, Margaret Emily Baca. Sister Frances was raised in Pena Blanca, NM and after graduating from Pena Blanca High School she attended Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM and graduated from St. Josephs College in Albuquerque, NM with a degree in Education. Sister Frances taught school in the Sandoval County School District for 34 years beginning in one-room schools in northern Sandoval County. She retired in 1970 to care for her aging parents. In 1987 Sister Frances was accepted into the Order of Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate in Amarillo, TX. She professed her first vows in 1990 and her final vows in 1995. She then helped teach at St. Anthony School in Hereford, TX and Resurrection School in Los Angeles, CA where she became the school Librarian and Treasurer. Sister Frances retired in 2006 to St. Francis Convent, Amarillo, TX. Rosary for Sister Frances will be at 7:30 pm, Sunday, December 21st and Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 22nd at 10:30 am, both at St. Francis Convent, 4301 NE 18th Ave., Amarillo, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Francis Convent. Boxwell Mortuary Amarillo, TX is entrusted.

JONES, DONALD JOSEPH Age 90, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014. He is survived by his three children Carol Ann, (husband Mark Campbell), Barbara Ann, (husband Doug Decker, with four children: Brian and wife Chelsea, Steven and wife Angela, Amy, and Susan), and Robert William (with wife Michele, and one daughter Megan). KOMAREK, EMIL E. Age 95, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2014. Born in Chicago, IL on October 22, 1919, he was the son of immigrants from Czechoslovakia. Mr. Komarek was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945 in the Asian Pacific Theatre, specifically in the New Guinea and Papuan campaigns. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargeant during his service and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Komarek's career interests focused on radio and television electronics engineering. The R.C.A. Institutes, Inc. (Chicago) awarded him a certificate for completing subjects in the "Commercial Radio Operating with Code and Radio Laws" in 1941; and he received a diploma from American Television for the theoretical and practical course of instruction in television engineering in 1948. Mr. Komarek was an electronics engineer at Sandia National Laboratories from 1952-1983, participating in the amazing technological advances in micro-technologies during those years. Emil was an avid amateur "ham" radio enthusiast (call letters W5OQR), obtaining his first license in 1939. In later years he held an Advanced Class license. He was a member of several radio clubs, including the Quarter Century Wireless Association, the Amateur Radio Caravan Club, and the Upper Rio FM Society. After retiring in 1983, Mr. Komarek and his wife, Mildred, traveled around the world and especially loved the cruises. Other activities that occupied his time were gardening, attending the Albuquerque Dukes and the Isotopes baseball games (he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs), playing Scrabble, and fishing at many of New Mexico's lakes. Mr. Komarek was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred and brother, Frank. He is survived by his daughters, Amelia Budge (Thomas) and Susan Komarek (Kevin); his son, Wayne Komarek (Linda); and brother, Ernest Komarek (Lillian); as well as many nieces and nephews and close friends. Mr. Komarek was a loving father and will be missed by all who knew him. Services to celebrate Mr. Komarek's life will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas followed by a brief military service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Komarek will be interred next to his wife. MAES, PAUL E. Our father, Paul E. Maes left us on Tuesday morning, December 16th to join our mother, Mary Alice Maes who left us in May. The past few months our father has longed to be reunited with the love of his life. The thought of spending even one Christmas without her was more than he could handle. Our father truly died of a broken heart. We invite you his friends to join his family is a celebration of his life on Friday, December 26th at 3pm at Annunciation Church. MOYER, PAUL L. 1947-2014 Paul L. Moyer, age 67, a resident of Belen, NM and formerly of Austin, TX passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970. Paul graduated from the University of Texas. He provided outstanding service for the First USA, Dell Financial Services and CGI. He was preceded in death by his son, Jackson Moyer. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Meredith Morton Moyer; son, Whitney Moyer; daughter-in-law, Sabine Berghammer; granddaughter, Erica Moyer; sister and brother-in-law, Madelane and Thomas Seay; nephew, Scott Seay; and friend, Sam Cartledge.
