AIRMET, NORMA GROVER Mrs. Norma Airmet, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died peacefully of age-related causes on Wednesday, November 26. Norma was born on April 9, 1917, to George F. and Mary Vilate Clayton Grover in Garland, Utah. She was raised by her loving older brothers (Wayne, George and Keith Grover, deceased) after their mother's early death. She married Elliot Seaton Airmet Jr. (deceased) on November 7, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved to Washington, DC where Norma worked for the IRS while Elliot served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war, Elliot's service led them to Dayton, Ohio; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; and, finally, Albuquerque. Norma is survived by her four loving children: Barbara Jacob (Bob Carlson) of Albuquerque, Beverly Randall (Stan) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Douglas (Donelle) of Pocatello, Idaho, and Wayne (Katherine) of Layton, Utah. She also has 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Norma was a tireless wife, mother, and member of the Albuquerque community. She worked in the PTA all the years her children were in school, eventually serving as President of the New Mexico PTA from 1969 to 1971. Norma was active in the Retired Officers' Wives' Club and Cosmopolitan Women's Club, volunteering and serving in many capacities, including as president for the CWC. Beginning with lessons as a child, Norma loved to dance. In 1986, she learned about line dancing at the senior centers and quickly joined what would become a favorite activity. She danced and performed with the Rockin' Rhythm Line Dancers into her 90s. In addition to dancing, Norma loved to read, travel, play bridge (and win!), cross-stitch, watch college basketball, and write letters to her family and wide circle of friends. She loved to talk, share stories, and write. She penned her life story, and that of her husband, so that future generations could know their roots. She was also a frequent contributor to the Apple Barrel, a newsletter published by Manzano Del Sol, where she lived the last 4 years of her life. To the end, Norma kept up with all the children and grandchildren. She and Elliot attended all the graduations and weddings and visited new babies as soon as possible. She never missed sending a card for birthdays or anniversaries, despite the large size of her extended family. She loved God and was always grateful for His many blessings. She was active in the Mormon church as a Primary teacher for young children and visited weekly with friends from the Church up until the end. Norma loved life and "hit the floor dancing" every day, despite several health challenges in recent years. Norma will be remembered for her endless goodwill, humor, happiness, and perseverance (water-skiing at 80 years old). She was a positive role model for everyone around her, as evidenced by the outpouring of love and good wishes during her final days. Cremation has taken place. In order for all the great grandchildren to attend, a memorial and celebration of her life will take place in early summer at the LDS Church she attended. In lieu of flowers, you may send contributions to the Cosmopolitan Women's Club Scholarship Fund, 5216 Westwind NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or the charity of your choice. Those who wish to express condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com Norma's care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 505-821-0010

ALBRIGHT, MAY ISABEL May Isabel Albright, "Isabel" to all who knew her, was born October 18, 1924 to Eldon and Mary (Prickett) Preston in Bend, Oregon, and passed on November 21, 2014, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Raised in a loving family, with her brother Kenny, Isabel Albright shared her love with her family and friends. She enjoyed people, and had lifelong deep friendships. Isabel had an exceptional work ethic. When her husband, William David Albright, served in the military during the Second World War, Isabel Albright worked to pay for ongoing expenses and saved every penny of her husband's military pay. After the war, they bought their first home with what she saved. Isabel led women's issues in the workplace. Advances in the rights of women were won by the strength and determination of strong women in earlier generations. One example is equal pay for equal work. As the Secretary to the Chief Engineer of the Highway Department, Isabel testified before the Oregon State Legislature to improve the pay and benefits to women employees. Her testimony was successful. When Isabel retired, the Oregon Highway Department named the Secretary of the Year Award after her. A large calligraphic scroll was presented to her with the Seal of the State of Oregon Highway Commission. The scroll noted that her service, "won her the respect and admiration of her fellow employees" and that she "diligently performed each and every task with competence and a joyful spirit. Her joyful spirit reflected her love of God and vital faith in Jesus Christ. In one of the prayers she wrote and shared at a family gathering, Isabel Albright described the importance of courage and peaceful spirit in all we do. Isabel had many joys. She loved to cook with her granddaughters Lisa and Katrina. Throughout her life she loved to read. She read voluminously. Her husband kept extensive, handwritten lists by author of the books she read. Authors were organized by last name. Isabel had read 232 different authors whose last names began with the letters A, B, or C alone. The thousands of books she read over her lifetime enriched Isabel Albright as she enriched the lives of those she met. Isabel Albright had wonderful friendships. Some friends were life-long from her childhood. Some friends were in Albuquerque and particularly at Bee Hive Village where she lived in her final years. Friends enriched her life. Her son, David, her daughter-in-law, Kathy, her granddaughters Lisa and Katrina, and her great-granddaughters, Roxanne and Isabel, survive her. On December 12, 2014, friends and family will gather between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to come and remember, pray and share memories at a viewing at FRENCH-Wyoming. Following at 1:30 p.m., Isabel will be buried next to her husband, William David Albright at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please visit our online guestbook for Isabel at www.FrenchFunerals.com FRENCH Wyoming 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400

COWDEN, TAMMY LOUISE Age 52 years old, of Phoenix, Arizona gently passed away December 1, 2014 with her family at her side and with the loving intentions of all her family and friends that could not attend, after a long and courageous battle with sepsis. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all those hearts that shared her life with her. Tammy was born on March 14, 1962 in' Sanford, Florida to Jack Wayne McMains and Beth Stoeckly Lutjens (deceased). Her early years where spent with the riggers of family military life with her brothers James Lys McMains and Daniel Wayne McMains and sister Lane McMains. As a child she was remembered most by her wild curly hair, sparkling eyes and joyful smiles. Her father retired from the military in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early seventies where Tammy was able to attend elementary, junior high and Sandia High School. Her friends say she was a clown in a silly kind of way. And that she could make a friend with anyone, that no one was a stranger to her. She was very involved in volunteering at the Rio Grande Zoo and helping her family raise baby exotic animals before the zoo had a full time nursery. She especially loved raising squirrel monkeys. To her classmate's delight she would often share her unique experiences during storytelling or speech time. One time she brought a monkey to school for a speech on "How to diaper a monkey". She got an A that day ... After the birth of her beloved first son, Justin James McMains they both moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico where she met her future husband Bill Cowden. Tammy and Bill were married on August 16, 1986 and they shared 28 wonderful years together. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona shortly after their marriage where they had three more sons - David Graham Cowden, William Shane Cowden and Daniel Sean Cowden. Her days were filled with raising four rambunctious boys and supporting her husband with his new career. She did however always find time and loved to travel. She relished the unbeaten path and the discoveries they held. Many who traveled with her will tell you she would say something like "There's a fork in the road, you wanna go left or right?" She didn't care about directions she cared about the adventure ahead and the beauty she would see. The beauty she saw eventually led to another passion - that of black and white photography. She attended the Chandler-Gilbert Community College and volunteered for many years at the department's dark room. Many students have told us how much she has influenced them. From 2003 - 2005 she served along with Chuck Lambson at The Gilbert Visual Art League (GVAL) organizing local art shows and promoting area artist. Tammy most loved being the grandmother of Juan and Jackie Ceja-Hucke, Alex James McMains-Hucke, Sierra Eve McMains-Hucke and Kaleb Dale McMains-Hucke. And she had a very special relationship with the mother of her grandchildren Sherry Henke, and her step father Don Lutjens and her step mother Alcyon McMains. Tammy was a great lady, a generous person and as her son's say "a Bad Ass Mom". Farewell Tammy you are so loved words can never express it. Sniff ...A memorial for Tammy is being held on Monday December 8,2014 at 2:00 pm at the Legacy Funeral Home, 1374 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler, Arizona 85225.

HILLARD, BRIANA Briana, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend, was born on Dec 12, 1992 in Portland, OR. She lived in Abq from the age of three until her passing on Nov. 21st, just a few weeks short of her 22nd birthday. She loved music, travel and adventures with her friends and family. She traveled to London, Paris, Venice, Egypt, Costa Rica, Belize and Mexico. She celebrated her 21st birthday in Las Vegas and recently spent a week in New York City with her mother. An active swimmer and lifeguard, she was on the Sandia High School swim team. She enjoyed her years at UNM, was active in Greek life and loved her Pi Beta Phi sisters. A senior at UNM studying marketing at the Anderson School of Management, she worked hard at her studies and would have graduated in 2015. She loved people and was active in a variety of volunteer activities: she served meals to the homeless, delivered meals to the elderly and volunteered three summers at the Muscular Dystrophy Camp. Her outer beauty was only overshadowed by her inner beauty. Everyone who knew her saw her sweet spirit and enjoyment of life. She was spontaneous, adventurous, and loved her friends and family. Her friends meant everything to her and even at the moment of her death she was with the friends she loved. She leaves her mother, Marina, with whom she had the deepest bond imaginable. She leaves her older siblings, Sarah, Harmony and Mathias, her little five year-old brother Oliver and her 15 month-old brother and sister, Yale and Catalina. Her grandmother, Lauren Austin, was her close friend and confidant. Her aunt Julia was as much a sister as an aunt. Her grandmother, Joann, also loved and misses her. Her father, Michael, is eternally grateful to have had the rare and wonderful opportunity to be her father. She will be forever loved and remembered as the beautiful 21 year-old woman with the gorgeous smile - kind, loving and unsullied by life's heartaches and disappointments. Farewell, our sweet Bri! May your current journey bring you wonder and joy. We who are left behind grieve our loss but know our smiles will one day return nurtured by the warmth of your kind and joyful spirit. Your life has enabled us to be better able to love others and to live each moment of every day with greater spontaneity and joy. Thank you for the supreme gift of your love. Bon voyage, dearest Bri! A final farewell will be held on Sunday, December 7th at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Briana's name to the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Jeannie became a realtor. She sold real estate in the Albuquerque area and then the east mountain area for over 40 years. Jeannie continued the family business, Rathbun Realty, for years after her mother's passing in 2001. As many clients of Jeannie will recall, when you bought or sold a house through Rathbun Realty, you became a part of the family. Her business ethics stemmed from her down home roots. She in turn passed those codes of conduct down to her children and grandchildren. Jeannie was very proud of her 42 year membership of Alcoholics Anonymous. She got sober in February, 1972 and never looked back. Her life was changed forever because of AA. She made lifelong friendships and met her husband, Jim Rathbun, there too. Over the years Jeannie sponsored several young women in AA and made a valuable contribution to that program. Jeannie played the piano for many years at Grace Baptist Church in Edgewood, New Mexico, where her son, Brett Travis is Pastor. Jeannie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years as her health declined, she cherished those visits from her grand babies. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Hospice of the Sandias for their continued support and help these past few months. Viewing will be held Sunday December 7, 2014 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Harris-Hanlon, 807 Central, Moriarty, NM. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Edgewood, at 20 Leslie Lane on December 8, 2014 at 1:00pm. Reception immediately following services.
