ALDAZ, ELENA Age 89 of Albuquerque, entered the gates of heaven Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Beloved mother of Frances, Joe, Manuel and Sandra Vaquera. Elena is survived by four children; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. ASKEW, LADOZIA MINTER On the morning of October 10, 2014, surrounded in love, Ladozia Minter Askew, a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM peacefully passed away. Born in Wetumka, Oklahoma, the Minter family later moved to New Mexico in the late 1950's. Ladozia would graduate from Albuquerque High in 1964, and continue her education at the University of New Mexico where she earned a Bachelors in Education. Her first teaching assignment was at East San Jose Elementary, and while there she completed her Masters in Special Education. She would take her second teaching assignment at Sandia Base Elementary, where she would retire in 2003. After a year of retirement, she had a strong desire to return to the classroom, and she began teaching at Hayes Middle School. Ms. Askew would retire from Hayes in August 2013, for a completion of 46 years with the Albuquerque Public School system. Traveling, meeting people, and enjoying life kept Ladozia active. She was a member of Home Circle Club as well as a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. Her love for sports showed, as she could be spotted at many Lobo games. As well as her love for music, as she could be found at numerous concerts. She was known by many young people, whom she loved and opened the doors of her home for, as "Momma L.A." In return she would often affectionately refer to them as her "collectible children". She is survived by her daughter Stanis Krystine Askew; her sister, Coreaetta Hancock-Walpool (Nathaniel); sister-in-law, Elizabeth Minter; nephews, Rosel A. Minter (Tony), wife Keri; Aaron Dixon (Bucky), wife Kerry; Ian W. Minter (Duffy); Rozel V. Minter (R.V.), wife Melissa; Great nieces/nephews; Rashaun, Tiana, Avery, Malaki, Tevan, Aiden, Markus, and Myles; a very special friend, George McKenzie; Sister-friend, Martha McKey and Sister-Cousins, Brender Jackson and Carolyn Crawford. Ladozia is also survived by a host of cousins, relatives, adopted children, classmates, and friends. With the life lessons she taught, the conversations she had, the embracing hugs she gave, and the loud laughter she shared Ladozia Minter Askew will be sorely missed and will remain in our hearts forever. DIEDRICH, LANDIS "DEE" Age 58, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 14, 1956, to Landis and Raymonde Diedrich. Landis is survived by sister Cathy Caples and husband Phillip of Albuquerque, NM and many cousins dear to him. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm on October 20, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 pm. EICHHORST-EDDY, HELEN MARIE Helen Marie Eichhorst-Eddy was born November 9, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM, daughter of William Eichhorst and Janet Eichhorst. She was taken by a sudden illness but was surrounded by the love of her family and closest friends during her last days. Although Helen originally planned to work in Agriculture, and attended courses at NMSU, she worked in banking until finally finding her home working with Corrales Community Education at Corrales Elementary. Her side passion was crewing for the Adams balloon, I'm No Angel. She touched not only the lives of her family and friends, but her students, coworkers, and everyone else that she met. Known for her ability to put people at ease; listen to any problem; and help with anything, at any time, she leaves behind many who depended upon, and loved her, in ways that she never realized. She is survived by her husband, Clark A. Eddy; daughters, Justine L. Eichhorst and Jennifer M. Eddy; grandson, Darren J. Mock; her oldest brother, Thomas Eichhorst, and his wife, Donnie Eichhorst; sister-in-law, Lisa Eichhorst (brother Pat-deceased); her brother, Bob Eichhorst, and his wife, Susi Baylor Eichhorst; brother-in-law, Kevin Eddy, and his wife, Diana Eddy; brother-in-law Stuart Eddy, and his wife, Evelyn Higgins; brother-in-law, Clay Eddy; sister-in-law, Allison Sarracino, and her husband, Ray Sarracino; her best-friend, Tamatha Arp-Cowen, and her husband, Dave Cowen; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and chosen family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18th, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the West Patio of Corrales Elementary School.

GONZALES, GREG G. Greg G. Gonzales, a great father, son, brother, and uncle, born April 29, 1981, passed away October 13, 2014. Greg resided in Albuquerque all his life and is survived by his mother and father, Florence and Gilbert Gonzales; his sister, Gina Galaviz and her husband Edgar; and his two nephews, Antonio and Julian. He lived for his children Mia Neeson Gonzales and his son, Santiago Gonzales and was the best father ever. He is also survived by his fiancee, Nicole Cruz; his son, Santiago Gonzales and her children, Alex, Chanel, Javier and Olivia. He worked for the State of New Mexico at Sequoia Treatment Center and now CYFD, which he loved and once said "saving one kid at a time." You will never be forgotten - your smile, your personality and love for all your family and friends. LANEY, ROBERT GERALD Robert "Bob" Gerald Laney, age 70, of Albuquerque, NM passed away October 15, 2014 in Albuquerque. Bob was born September 27, 1944 in Walsenburg, CO where he was reared and attended schools. He volunteered for service in the United States Air Force & retired in 1972. In 1984 he married Kathleen D. Laney the joy of his life. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob completed college and worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Energy's Office of the Inspector General retiring again in May 2001 after 37 years of Government Service. His dedication to helping others led him to volunteer in many ways, and through that, he touched many lives. Bob is survived by his wife Kathy; his brother Jack Laney and wife Michele; his children Ann Smith; Robert Peltzer and wife Kim; Tina Gonzalez and husband Ed; his niece Nicole and nephew Christopher; four grandchildren, Alicia and Brianna Smith and Caleb and Dakota Peltzer; one great-granddaughter Emma, that we will welcome into the family in a couple of weeks; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jorge Delgado, Danny McGillivray, Don Tenant, Mike Ford, Jim Pallas, and John Schwartz. MARTINEZ, RUMELIA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 with family by her side. She was born January 23, 1926. Rumelia was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Irene Pena; husband, Toribio; son, Dennis; six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Martinez, Emily and husband Leroy Montoya, Amy and husband Joe Lovato; son, Anthony Martinez; sister, Dora Chavez; brother, Joe Pena; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6440 Hwy 550 Cuba, NM on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Rosary will be recited at 11:30am. MONTOYA, MICHAEL (MOUNTAIN) JOSEPH a life long resident of Bernalillo, NM passed away suddenly. He was born on November 27, 1970 to Dolores and Joseph (deceased) Montoya. He is survived by his mother Dolores; son Santiago; sister Diane; nieces Breanna and Jovanna; great-nephews Francisco and Julian; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph, grandparents, Fita and Crespin Lovato, Joe Montoya, Seferino and Fidela Lucero. Rosary will be recited on Saturday, October 18, at 10:30am and Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. He will be laid to rest with his father at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank all who have supported us at this time.

MORSE, HARVEY H. Harvey H. Morse, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed to Life Eternal Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Harvey was born on April 16, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Harvey and Lena Wilhelmina (Schaeffer) Morse. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1948 where he was a member of the All-State baseball team. Harvey attended the University of New Mexico until 1950 when he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. While in the Air Force, stationed in San Angelo, TX, he met his wife, Janell Lay and they wed on June 11, 1954. After serving in the Air Force, he continued his education at New Mexico Highlands and then moved to Albuquerque where he attended the University of New Mexico majoring in Physical Education and minoring in Biology/ Business Administration. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and an outfielder for the Lobo baseball team. Harvey worked as a Health Inspector for Sandoval County and then the State of New Mexico. He retired as a Rehabilitation Housing Counselor for the City of Albuquerque and owned a small plumbing business, MJM. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed a perfect attendance record as a Club Member in the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque and singing in the First Presbyterian Church Choir. Harvey continued his passion for baseball by coaching his grandson, Andrew and assisting the Menaul School baseball program. He loved fishing, gardening, music, history and patiently teaching his grandkids the game of baseball. His favorite pastimes were gathering with his family and friends and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. Harvey was a steady and loving influence for his entire family. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Janell Morse; three daughters, Marcia and husband, Dr. John Salazar, Janice Dinkel, and Marian and husband, Louis Dickinson; grandchildren, Kenneth Salazar and wife, Amy, Brian Salazar and wife, Brooke, Andrew Salazar and wife, Hannah, Kristin Salazar-Coffman and husband, Scott, Lenae Dickinson Crespin and husband, Jay, and Anthony and Matthew Dinkel. Harvey was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Preston and Wyatt Salazar, Abigail Salazar and EmiJayne Coffman. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, Donald E. Morse. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, with a reception immediately following at the church. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, with military honors by the United States Air Force. SHAW, LULA MAE passed away quietly October 5, 2014 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Arthur Willis Shaw and her son Alan William Shaw. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia K. Drennan and husband Ted and their children Scott A. Drennan and his wife, Julie and daughter, Carys Ransbottom and husband Eddie; Steve W. Drennan and his wife, Jeanne, and children Kaitlyn and husband Matt, Kyle and Luke. She was born and raised in Mountainair, NM and will return to the hills she remembered. The family wants to express their gratitude and appreciation to her caring hospice team from Ambercare, her loving caregivers, Faye Griego (and longtime friend), Darla Griego, Maria Harmon, and her caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care.
