ANGEL, ALFONSO F. Alfonso F. Angel, 80, died October 4, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen, his brother, Alfred Angel, his niece, Nicole Duran and her husband, Julio, his nephew, Joey Padilla, as well as Helen's family, Salvador and Lydia Ruiz, Fredelina and Mario Palza, Lydia Ruiz, Eloy and Maria Ruiz, Laida Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Alfonso joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. He attended and graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 1959. Mr. Angel then taught Elementary Education in many places including Dulce, Albuquerque and Sky City. He also worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Dulce and at SIPI in Albuquerque. He was a member of Calvary Chapel and was very involved in the prison ministry. His service will be Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 2 p.m., at FRENCH - University with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. DOOLITTLE, JOHN C. Born December 30, 1919 to Russell C. and Myrtle Cordner Doolittle in Des Moines, Iowa. Died age 94 on October 4, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in business and in mechanical engineering from Iowa State. He served in the Air Force in World War II and the Korean War. John married Dorothy Teberg on December 24, 1942. After WWII they lived in Rochester, NY and he worked for Eastman Kodak. The family home for 30 years was a farm house which they remodeled in Mendon, NY. They moved to Albuquerque in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Thomas Doolittle (wife Leslie) and Martha McIver (husband Jack); grandchildren, Andrew, Heather, Brian, John, and Natalia; and nieces Margaret Ann and Anne. John was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Tau Beta Pi, and a B.I.L. of Dorothy's P.E.O. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed tennis and volunteering at the NM Museum of Natural History. John was active in the La Vida Llena community where they lived since 1998. The family is very grateful for the loving care and special friendships Dad has had at LVL. EDEN, MYRA JEAN Myra Jean Eden, age 84, passed away on Sunday morning, October 5, 2014. She is survived by her children, Lonnie Eden and wife, Mary Anne, Judy Weddington, Vicki Wilkinson and husband, Gary; nine grandchildren, Alisha, Karen, Chris, Jessica, Lindi, Jeffrey, Charlie, Jerrod and Jessie, and seven great-grandchildren. Myra worked for APS central kitchen for 35 years and was a manager for over 60 schools. She was the state president of the NM School Nutrition Association. She loved spending time with her family, square dancing, any card game (especially bridge), and would never pass up a craft show. Friends may visit on Tuesday, October 7, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. KELLEY, JAY W After a long illness, Jay joined the Lord on September 30, 2014. He was 85 years old. Jay was a loving husband, father, brother-in-law and uncle and was beloved by all who knew him. He was born in San Saba TX, grew up in Brownwood TX, and was a cowboy at heart his entire life. Jay was a veteran of World War II (having lied about his age to join up) and the Korean war. In 1969, he retired from the Air Force and settled in Albuquerque where he continued a career in civil service at Kirtland AFB until retirement. Jay is survived by his wife Elvira; his daughter Kathleen and her husband Steven Kubica; his brother Roy Gene Kelley; sisters-in-law Norma Santos and Sylvia Esquibel and her husband Tony; many nieces and nephews; and his chihuahua Taco. He was preceded in death by his parents James Henry and Allie Belle Kelley; brothers James and Lewis, and sisters Mae, Thelma, and Vivian. A memorial service will be held at the Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque on Wednesday, October 8 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by a Rosary from 6:00 to 7:00. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 11:00 am at the Riverside Funeral Home, followed by internment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Due to health concerns, the family respectfully requests that you please refrain from wearing perfume or aftershave to these events.

SAIZ, JOE PAT Age 68, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 3, 2014. He was born in Alameda, NM and was a resident of Lindrith, NM. Joe was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, who served his country during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post #54 in Lindrith, NM, and was a member of the honor guard for the American Legion in Cuba, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Saiz; and a son, Ernest Hubbell. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bernice Saiz; his children, Donald Mann and wife Vickie, Diana Schmitt and husband Jerry, Elizabeth Ortega and husband Donathan, Megan Gonzales and companion Terry; his grandchildren, Douglas Chipley, Leslie Vagneur and husband Donny, Kristeena, Jessica and Michael Jr. Gonzales, special Sweetie Pie Mickayla Ortega; great-grandchildren, Sky, Kellin, and Jayden Vagneur. SCHNEIDER, JACK R. age 94, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 after a long life. He was born in Muskogee, OK on October 27, 1919 to Ralph and Myrtle (McVay) Schneider. He was a World War II Fighter Pilot assigned to the Second Squadron, 52nd Fighter Group, flying Spitfires and P-51 Mustangs in the Mediterranean Theater. He received the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He also served during the Korean War after World War II as part of his career in the USAF Reserves. He retired in 1960 at the rank of Lt. Colonel. Jack married Lowbyane "Sis" Rooker on September 10, 1944 - four days after he returned from World War II. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Texaco, Inc. for 31 years and retired in 1983 in Houston, TX where he was the Manager of National Accounts. Mr. Schneider was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ralph Schneider. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lowbyane "Sis" Schneider, two sons: Stephen Schneider and wife Peggy of Escondido, CA and Brian Schneider and wife Penny of Albuquerque, NM. He was very fond and proud of his two grandchildren, Carson Schneider and Kendall Schneider of Albuquerque. He has a niece, Lisa Downey and husband Mark; two great nephews Zaide Downey and Matthew Downey and a great niece Angela Downey, all of Jones, OK Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with military honors by the United States Air Force. URIOSTE, NORA S. Beloved mother, grandmother and sister was called home by our Lord on 9/29/14 surrounded by her family. Nora was born in Anton Chico, NM to the late Federico and Debari Sandoval on 10/24/20. Preceding her in death, her husband, Jose Urioste, grandson Andrew Urioste, three brothers Blas, Trancito and Fred Sandoval, three sisters Pabla Montoya, Abelina Nelson and Eulalia Roybal. Nora is survived by sons Maguin Urioste of Las Vegas, Joe Urioste Jr. and Hilario Urioste of Albuq.; three daughters Clara Urioste of Corrales, Lorraine Urioste of Las Vegas, and Diana Hutchins and husband Dan of Albuq.; grandsons Michael Urioste of Las Vegas Angelo Lopez of Las Vegas, NV, Eric Urioste of Phoenix, AZ, Bobby Madrid of Las Vegas, Albert Herrera Jr. and Eva Gutierrez of Las Vegas, and Benjamin Urioste and wife Haniel of Albuq.; granddaughters Elizabeth Davis and husband Howard of Las Vegas, NV, Lori Padilla and husband Rocky of Albuq., Jen Martinez of Las Vegas, Debra Madrid and fiance Eddie Gallegos of Albuq., Amy Jo Gonzales of Las Vegas, Lia Urioste of Dallas, TX; and numerous great-grandchildren. YOSHIMOTO, HENRY (HANK) Henry (Hank) Yoshimoto, 87, died at home after an 18 month battle with bladder cancer. He was born in Pocatello and raised in both Idaho and California. During WWII, he and his family were in the Gila, AZ internment camp. After the war he moved to Chicago where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Lily. They moved to Albuquerque, NM where Hank worked as a heating and air conditioning repairman. After his retirement and the death of his wife he moved to Las Vegas to live with his daughter. He enjoyed shows at the Starbright Theater and the Smith Center but his true enjoyment came from bowling on his Sun City Summerlin leagues. Even during his chemo and radiation treatments his one concern was whether or not he would be able to continue bowling. He is survived by daughter Patricia Torino; brother Fred Yoshimoto (Marie); sister-in-law Yo Yoshimoto; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Thursday Oct. 9, 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr. Las Vegas 89128.
