DEMOLLI, FRANK A. SR. Frank A. Demolli, age 83, passed peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2014 due to a massive stroke. He was born in Rockford, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and Frank Demolli. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Joan; his children Frank (Naomi), Joe, Patricia Anderson (Dana), Susan Hamel (Bill), Duane (Jan), Carol Barbarow (Dan), Dan (Mary), Dawn Fowler (Russ); 12 grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends in the Rockford area. He spent 27 years in the Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He received his bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Pueblo, Colorado. He was active in the Boy Scouts, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the Volksport Walking Club. He never missed watching his favorite football team, the Broncos. He also enjoyed playing and teaching board games and cards to his children and grandchildren. During and after his years in the military, he and his family lived in many states and overseas, retiring in Albuquerque, NM. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. GALINDRO, PABLO We would like to thank family and friends for coming out and saying their final farewell to Pablo Galindro on Sept 29, 2014, who was one of the few remaining WWII veterans. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; but was also a proud member of the 82nd Airborne. This man jumped during the Operation Overlord on D-day, fought behind enemy lines for our country in Operation Market Garden which was called "Bridge too Far", as well as fighting in the " Battle of the Bulge". He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Belgian Croix de Gurre Fourragerre among other numerous other citations. This WWII Veteran will be solely missed not only by his family but by all those who knew him and were touched by his magnificent stories.

He served as pastor of Central UMC, First UMC, St. John's UMC of Albuquerque, and other churches for nearly 50 years of ministry. HOPPMAN, LYDIA WEBSTER A resident of Rio Rancho, died peacefully at home on September 29, 2014 after a brief battle with breast cancer. She celebrated her 56th birthday a week earlier on September 22. A mother of eight, she home schooled all of her children. The four older had graduated and she had home schooled her four younger children until her illness was diagnosed in May. She was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of John Curran of Rio Rancho and the late Barbara Curran. She grew up in Ipswich, MA and attended Ipswich High School. She later graduated from Essex Agricultural High School where she became a skilled gardener and later a passionate advocate for organic gardening and alternative medicine. In her youth she was a member of 4-H and competed in a variety of horse competitions, first with a pony and later a half Arab gelding. She moved to Albuquerque with her family in 1979. A year later, she briefly pursued in a career in modeling and acting with her sister, Maellen in Los Angeles where she was chosen for bit roles in the television series Little House on the Prairie as well as in several movies. Upon returning to Albuquerque she attended the University of Albuquerque where she met her husband Robert who was an undergraduate before studying to become an x-ray technologist. A devout Christian, she frequently sang in church as a soloist and with her husband accompanying her on the guitar, even after her hearing was severely impacted by surgery for a benign brain tumor. When they were married in 1989 in Calvary Albuquerque, she surprised her husband and the congregation by singing a special song for him. In 1995, her husband was hired by the community hospital in Keene, NH where they lived for more than five years. She and her family returned to the Albuquerque area in 2000 when her husband was hired by St. Joseph's Hospital. He now works as a director of the Radiation Oncology Gamma Knife department of Lovelace Health Systems following its takeover. Besides her husband, Lydia is survived by eight children, Joshua, Kelsey, Jeremiah, Jonathan, twins Micah and Mykaela, Josiah and Keturah; father, John Curran and wife Nora of Rio Rancho; brother, Ben and wife Lori and children, Carlene, Shane, Clarisa and Hope Ann of Elkton, KY; brother, Jonathan and wife Martha; nieces, Mandie Walston and husband Steve and Heather Ryno, husband Caleb and their son, Lydia's great-nephew, Eli Jonathan; sister, Maellen Blodgett and husband Monty and children, Silas, Nicholas, Daniel and Emily, all of Albuquerque; aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Perron of Ipswich, MA; uncle Paul Chown of London, England; mother-in-law, Marilyn Hoppman of Peoria, AZ; sister-in-law, Trish and husband Robert Albright of Scottsdale, AZ and nieces Sheyla Herrera of Albuquerque and Breanna and husband Eric Hale of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Karol Como, husband Scott and nephew Jacob of Scottsdale, AZ; and sister-in-law, Cindy and husband Dave Benefield of Albuquerque. KNIGHT, DONALD CLIFTON age 87 of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday September 26, 2014 at an Albuquerque hospital. He was born May 31, 1927 in Brockton, MA the third of seven children to Allan and Sarah (Hall) Knight. Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister, his beloved wife of 57 years, Wilhelmine (Obladen) and his grandson Kenneth J. Schnoor. He is survived by his children Tom Thompson (Kathy) of Frankfort, KY, Bonnie Schnoor (Ken) of Albuquerque, NM and Don Knight (Elaine) of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, JD Schnoor (Janelle), Alicia Gingrich (Phil), Catherine Vest (Ryan) and Donald H. Knight; three great- grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and many nieces and nephews. His family moved to Maine when he was 2 years old, where they lived until he was 17. The family then moved to San Francisco when his father took a job in the ship yards. Don joined the Army and served in Japan during the Korean War. While stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, he met and married the love of his life, whom he was devoted to until her death in 2009. Don retired as a First Sergeant (E8) from Head Quarters Company/Head Quarters Element, Sandia Army Base, Albuquerque, NM in June of 1970. He had received many medals and awards during his career. After retirement he started a second career with Mountain State's Financial where he retired as a VP. Don was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish, where he served as a Eucharist Minister for a number of years at both his church and at Presbyterian Hospital. He loved to play golf, cribbage, cards and enjoyed traveling. He was a great story teller, loved to laugh and always had a twinkle in his eye. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but to all who knew him knows he is delighted to be reunited with his Wilhelmine in the mansion that God has prepared for them. An evening service of remembrance and memories will be held at 7:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque. LOPEZ, ANGIE SAAVEDRA a longtime Santa Fe resident, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 28 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital. Angie was the driving force of her family, a rock-solid matriarch exuding strength, compassion and an incredible zest for life. She was an unbelievable mother and best friend to her four children, developing different but equally meaningful bonds with each of them. Blessed with a wealth of generosity, empathy and sense of humor, Angie touched everyone in her life. She was an exemplary wife, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, friend and an especially doting grandmother. She was the shining star who brightened everything and everyone in her path. Angie was born in Albuquerque and raised in the New Mexico communities of Tokay, San Pedro and Socorro. A devout Roman Catholic, she was active with the church and in the community, and made her family especially proud in the mid-1960s when she was honored as the top fund-raiser for the March of Dimes. Her absolute passion was gardening, especially tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, was an avid horse racing fan and supported her grandchildren in various sporting activities. Angie is survived by her son Walter K. Lopez (Santa Fe); daughter Linda DeBruyn, her husband Ed, son Eddie and daughter KK (Santa Fe); son Pat Lopez, his wife Mari, son Bosco (Santa Fe) and daughter DeAnza (Los Angeles); son Mark Lopez, his wife Catherine, daughters Ariana and Nina and son Dean (Albuquerque); her sister Sarah Vigil (Las Cruces); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Salomon; parents Onesimo and Dominica Saavedra; brother Pete Saavedra and sisters Alva Gonzales, Beatrice Romero and Rosa Peralta. Angie possessed an extraordinary presence and was just as beautiful in death as she was in life. And although she has entered into Our Lord's heavenly kingdom, her passing has created an irreplaceable void in our lives and she will be dearly missed. MACDOUGALL, JANE ANN Jane Ann MacDougall age 82, loving mother and wife, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014. She is survived by husband, Hugh MacDougall; children, Jacqueline Bilan, Mark (Dottie) and Greg (Mary) MacDougall; sisters Joan Endsley and Barbara Heusinger; brother Phillip Steger; grandchildren, Allie Abel, Kristi Bilan, Matt and Molly MacDougall; and many nieces and nephews. Jane was a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital for many years, an avid reader, devoted Catholic, and loved all animals. MAUPIN, BETTY CAPPS 1929-2014 Betty Capps Maupin, age 84, a resident of Belen, passed away on Saturday, September 27. She was one of two children born on December 19, 1929 to J. Logan and Effie Capps in Littlefield, Texas. Betty's twin, Billy, died only ten months later. Her first years were spent on a farm, but the depression and dust storms forced the family to look for better conditions and they moved to Belen, New Mexico, in 1937, where the irrigated fields looked pretty good to a poor farmer from the dust bowl. The family remained in Belen only a year before being lured to California by stories of jobs and prosperity. The family returned to Belen in 1943 after giving up on the false promises of fortune, a drastic change for 13-year-old Betty. She graduated from Belen High School in 1948, married Leslie Maupin in 1949, and went to work at the First National Bank of Belen where she worked off and on until 1985, taking time off to be with her daughters when they were young. She enjoyed ceramics, china painting, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of the Belen Pilot Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. L. Capps and Effie Capps; brothers, Sherman Capps, J.L. Capps Jr., and Billy Gene Capps; and her sister, Edith Mae Capps. Betty is survived by her husband, Leslie; two daughters; two sisters; four grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel on Friday, October 3, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. NAVARRETE, MARY ALICE Mary Alice Navarrete, 78, beloved Wife, Mother, and Sister, was called to her eternal resting place on September 25, 2014. She entered this world on May 23, 1936 in Cerro, NM, born to Juan and Claudina Segura, now deceased. SHEEHI, BARBARA ERIN Barbara Erin Sheehi, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was born on October 7, 1989 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Dorothy Othmer Sheehi and E. Joseph Sheehi. Barbara attended Cedar Lane School in Columbia, Maryland and moved to Albuquerque with her Mother, Dorothy in 2006. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 2012. Barbara was medically fragile, but in spite of all of her challenges, she had a very sweet disposition, was social and interested in the world around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for laughing and adding appropriate phrases to the conversation at exactly the right time. She found happiness in each day and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She gave those around her a deeper understanding of the preciousness of all God's children and an appreciation of the uniqueness and innocence of those with developmental disabilities. Barbara was pure in heart and an angel on call. Barbara is survived by her mother and father, grandmother Betty Othmer, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. One of her favorite phrases was: "See Ya" - and we will certainly see her in heaven. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. THOMPSON, MARILYN YEARY "MIMI" November 26, 1942 - September 27, 2014 Marilyn, age 71, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her friends and family after a short illness. Marilyn was born in Lubbock, TX and resided in Levelland, TX until 1969 when she moved to Albuquerque. She worked for many years at First American Title Company and, upon leaving, worked with her husband at his law office. She retired in 2013 to enjoy her family. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles Thompson and their five children, Marlin Fietz and his wife, Jayne, Lesa Fietz and her husband, Myron, Gregory Thompson and his wife, Patricia, Elizabeth Alley and her husband, Pete, Lesley Miller and her husband, Xavier. She is also survived by her sister, Corlla Yeary and nine nieces and nephews; 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many friends. Marilyn will be joining family that preceded her in death, her brother, Leland "Buddy" Yeary Jr. and her mother and father, Leland and Lucille Yeary.
