CAVE-GURULE, DEANA SOFIA Deana Sofia Cave-Gurule, born April 20th, 1964, of Los Lunas, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12th, 2014 at the age of 50. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles Cave and Faye Cave-Vallejos. Deana is survived by her husband of five years, Michael Moore; daughter Tawnya Gurule and boyfriend Phillip Delgado; son Jose Gurule and wife Deann; and youngest daughter Gabriela Gurule; four grandchildren, Savanna Sedillo, Eric Delgado, Cheyenne Mendez and Emma Delgado; brother Jim Cave and wife Christine; sister Debbie Chavez and husband Chris; and sister Donna. Deana had many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. An account has been opened by her children at Wells Fargo for donations to help Deana's family with expenses. Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of forty years, Bennita; daughter, Virginia Cebada and fiance, Jude Sanchez; son, Thomas Gerald Cebada; great-grandmother, Rosario Benavidez; grandchildren, Ruby B. Cebada and Roberto (R.J.) Santiago; sisters, Delilah Padilla and Veronica Pacheco; brothers, Randy Cebada and Steve Cebada; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. KIRKLAND, KARIN Karin passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23rd. She was and is much loved and will be missed by her family, husband Russ of 53 years; daughters Lee Ann and Dana; sons-in-law Patrick and John; granddaughters Holly and Hillary; and her sister, Jane and her family; as well as countless dear friends. Karin was born in Morgantown, WV. She graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, and attended Grove City College, both in PA. Russ and Karin moved to Socorro in 1979 to operate the Sears catalogue store, and Karin subsequently owned and operated the JC Penney catalogue store. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, and had passions for gardening, jewelry making, and animal welfare. She volunteered with APAS and worked at the Socorro city animal shelter. Services will be held Saturday, June 28th at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church in Socorro. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Humane Society would be appreciated.

KLINELINE, LILION Lilion Marksbury-Powell-Klineline was born near Veedersburg, Indiana on October 20, 2014 and passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Albuquerque. Lilion was a member of the Heights First Church of the Nazarene and an associate membership with University Heights UMC. In 1942, Lilion married Melvin Powell until his passing in 1983. Lilion worked at the Western School for Secretaries for 30 years, Jones Plumbing for four years, and ten years for the State of New Mexico, Department of Labor. Lilion married Paul Klineline in 1991 until Paul's passing at the age of 95. Lilion was also preceded in death by her brother, Blayn; his wife, Mildred; nephew, James Marksbury; and grandson, Jason Masters. She is survived by her children, Karen and husband, William Masters, Dawn and husband, James W. McCants; grandchildren, Eric and wife, Erika, Lance and wife, Diane, and Valerie; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, 9:00 a.m., at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo Del Norte Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. LOPEZ, ARMANDO Born on 1/16/45 and passed on Monday, 6/23/14. Armando, age 69, was a beloved father and brother. Devoted to his grandchildren, he is missed every day and will forever hold a special place in all our hearts. Longtime member of American Legion Post 49. Preceded in death by son Joseph Lopez, parents Emilia and Frank Lopez, sister Selena Lopez, brothers Robert and Norbert Lopez. Survived by daughter, Kathy Duran and spouse Andy; grandchildren Kristina Durham and spouse Steven, Joshua Duran, and Emilia and Ronnie Hawbaker; brothers Frank Lopez Jr. and wife Nancy, Joe Lopez and wife Joyce, Irvin Lopez and wife Diane, and Danny Lopez and companion Lori; with numerous nieces and nephews. MEAD, SALLY ZURN The inimitable and much-loved Sally Zurn Mead passed away suddenly and peacefully on Saturday June 14, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque, NM. She left the world on her own terms, just as she lived her life. Sally was born in Erie, PA, on November 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Melvin and Marian Zurn. She enjoyed a childhood of sailing, sports and a wonderful circle of friends. She graduated from The Masters School, class of 1948 and attended Northampton School for Girls. Sally then attended Denison University and left to be courted by her future husband, James M Mead. Jim and Sally wed in August of 1953. They enjoyed fifty one years together until Jim's death in 2005. Sally made many warm and beautiful homes for her family in Charlottesville, VA, Philadelphia, PA, Princeton, NJ, Washington DC and Albuquerque, NM. Sally was an accomplished athlete and particularly enjoyed tennis and golf, competing in various events and becoming tennis champion at the Philadelphia Cricket Club and golf champion at Springdale Golf Course in Princeton among others. Sally spent many happy years at various not-for-profit organizations and especially enjoyed her manager role at the Junior League Shop of Washington DC. In 1998 she relocated to Albuquerque where she greatly enjoyed her active role of grandmother and always welcomed family to the home she shared with her beloved cats. She was a voracious reader of every imaginable type of novel, often completing several books every few days. When not reading and helping with grandchildren, she worked hard on crossword puzzles and was especially fond of the Sunday New York Times Puzzles which she usually completed. Sally, also affectionately called Dutch, was known for her complete honesty, independent thought, generosity, loyalty and her refreshing dry sense of humor. She could be counted on to "tell it like it is" and was always a source of loving advice, support and life perspectives to her children, grandchildren and many others. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother John H Zurn and her cherished aunt, Arloween Zurn Todd. Her survivors include her son, Scott (Suling) Mead; daughters, Sara Mead and Hope (Brandon) Wynn. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Betsy, Amanda, Alex, Emma and Isabelle Mead, Jake Rupert, Emmett, Gus, Clay and Eleanor Wynn; and her brothers, Frank, David and Roger Zurn. She is further survived by Bobbi Pollock, the daughter of her beloved stepfather, the late Samuel J Roberts. She is also survived by her two most recent cats, Twinkie and Lulu. The family held a private service in Erie, PA.

OTHART, LEON B. 1931 - 2014 Leon B. Othart, age 83, a resident of Belen, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Leon was born on a family farm in Juxue, France where they raised cattle and sheep. He proudly served in the French Military and was honorably discharged. In 1953, America was calling with big dreams and he moved to Chino, California. After five years of working and learning the dairy farming trade with his cousin, he moved to Tolleson, Arizona where he met his lovely wife of 50 years, Johanna Van Loon. They were married on December 28, 1963 and moved to Los Lunas and started their own dairy farm business. As his business grew he also branched out into farming and enjoyed producing and hauling his own feed and dairy products. Driving semi-trucks and raising his horses was his passion. His six children and seven granddaughters were his pride and joy. Leon had many genuine characteristics that made him special. He was extremely generous, honest, loyal and a fair and hardworking business man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurent and Catherine Beloscar Othart; and two sisters, Josephine and Mari Jane Othart. Leon is survived by his loving wife, Johanna Van Loon Othart; son, Laurent and his wife, Jennifer; son, Maurice, daughter, Christine and her husband, Jim Pekin; daughter, Francine and her husband, Mike Tomas; daughter, Claudette and her husband, Rod Michael; and son, Leon Andre; seven granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Meghan, Francesca, Alessandra, Olivia, Emma and Anikah; brother, Andre Othart; and sister, Pascaline Ourthiague and her husband, George Ruckstuhl. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Friday, June 27, beginning with a Viewing at 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. RAEL, PAMELA LEE Pamela Lee Rael (Pam) (The Bug Lady), Loving mother, grandmother, daughter and wife passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday June 14th on her final trip back home, Santa Barbara, CA. It was her dying wish to go back to the ocean one last time and she was taken there by her youngest daughter Sarah Lemon and cared for in her last days by her oldest daughter Candice Taylor. Pam was loved very much by very many. Pam is survived by her four daughters, Sarah Lemon, Seanna Walker, Angela Taylor and Candice Taylor. Her three grandchildren, Hailey Lemon, Chloe Walker and Donald Walker. Her mother Aretta Cofelt, and husband Joe Rael. Pam who was raised in Santa Babara, California moved to NM in 1990. Pam loved the ocean, gardening and her friends/ customers in NM. Her celebration of life will be held in the courtyard of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on Saturday, June 28th from 7P - 9P. SANCHEZ, CLARA Clara Sanchez, 78 years of age and currently of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2014. Clara was born in Mogollon, NM, in 1936 and lived most of her life in Hurley and Albuquerque, NM. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Victorina Soto and three brothers. Clara is survived by husband of 54 years Mike Sanchez; her son Michael Sanchez and wife Gina and granddaughter Mikeyla; her daughter, Victoria Sanchez and her grandson Leighton Stewart. Other survivors are her eight brothers and five sisters. They are Edward Soto and wife Lupe, Richard Soto and wife Naomi, Joe Soto, Ernie Soto and wife Barbara, Tony Soto and wife Vellia, Frank Soto and wife Rosa, Ray Soto and wife Bertha, Chris Soto and wife Hilda. Clara's sisters are Josie Trujillo and husband Eddie, Gloria Cano and husband Phillip, Rita Hardy and husband Jim, Reyna Soto, and many nephews and nieces. Clara was a member of the Albuquerque Heights Church of Christ. Clara's memorial services are scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2014 at 6:00pm, 7801 Zuni Rd SE, Albuquerque, NM.

SCHLIENTZ, REBA J. Age 80, a longtime resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Tucumcari, died June 25, 2014. She is survived by her children, Darla Humphreys of Albuquerque, and Steve Schlientz and wife Brenda of Davidsonville, MD; five grandchildren: Lindsay Humphreys (spouse Blake Moore) and children Bryson and Lenna, Ryan Schlientz, Allison Golightly (spouse Daniel) and children Jerran, Kaylah, Kole and Kody, David Schientz and Mark Humphreys; her sister, Marilyn "Mickey" Miracle; nieces and nephews. Reba was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Schlientz; her parents; and her half-sister, Dixie Ann Houchins. Reba always strongly supported her husband during his service as Mayor of Tucumcari, and as a New Mexico State Senator. In addition, Reba served as the Chair of the New Mexico Republican Women. Reba was self-educated, a life learner, avid reader, and a caring mother. She was known for her sharp wit, great sense of humor and loyalty to her friends and family. SERRANO, ANSELMO Anselmo "Al" Serrano, age 80, went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2014. He is predeceased by his parents: Leandro and Eva Serrano; brothers: Bill and George Serrano; and grandson Evan Sandoval. Anselmo is survived by his wife of 44 years Sadie Serrano; daughters: Trinny and Agustin Aragon, Tina De La Luz and partner Marian Berg, Leona and Juan Martinez, Theresa and Larwrence Smith, Michelle and John A. Padilla, Eva and Robert Sandoval, Andrea Serrano, and Kimberly Rodriguez; sister Frances Madrid; 17 grandchildren nine great- grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Carlos Garcia, Robert Sellars, Tomas Giron, James Sellars, Antonio Tafoya, and Rodolfo Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
