SANCHEZ, JOANN (ZAMORA) Age 63, was called by God on July 5, 2013 after a life-long battle with diabetes and kidney disease. JoAnn enjoyed sewing and making baby blankets for family and friends. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Del Norte High School in 1968 and was a Nurse's Aide. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Zamora; brother, Michael Zamora and her father-in-law, Johnnie Garbagni. She is survived by Randy Sanchez, her husband of 42 years, owner of Randy's Barber Shop; her daughter, Daniella Shryock and husband, Richard; her son, Alejandro Sanchez; and three grandchildren - her pride and joy, Skylar and Lucas Sanchez, and Gabriella Shryock; her father, Lazaro Zamora; her brother, David Zamora and wife, Joyce; her sister, Theresa Zimmerly and husband, Tim; sisters-in-law, Gloria Zamora, Veronica Gutierrez and husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Johnnie Garbagni and wife, Eileen; mother-in-law, Dioly Garbagni and many nieces and nephews. SEGURA, IRENE born on May 6, 1920. Our Beloved Mother "Irene" was called to be with her eternal father, on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the age of 93. Mom enjoyed her family visits and lasting friendships she developed while making ceramics at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed the dances at the center with her "Special Friend and Partner .. Isidro Vigil". They were voted "Valentine's Day King and Queen" several times by their friends at the center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Augustin Segura and devoted son, Joe A. (Augustin) Segura. She is survived by her children, Ernest Segura, Theresa Herrera, Mary Barela, Virginia Segura, Patrick Segura and their extended families to include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 816 Broadway Blvd. SE. Thursday, July 11, 2013. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30am. A Communion Service will be celebrated at 10:00am. THOMPSON, DONALD J., JR. Age 52, born in Chelsea, MA on November 1, 1960, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Thompson, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Keith; daughter-in-law, Brandy; grandson, Brandyn; mother, Juanita; brother, Randy; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; thirty-three nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews. Donald was a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. He served his country for twenty-three years and is a veteran of Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. Donald was the recipient of several awards including the Meritorious Service Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster). Donald is dearly loved by his wife and family, and especially by his grandson, Brandyn. Those who worked with Donald knew him as knowledgeable professional who was always friendly and helpful to others. He was a wise and humble leader with a reputation for integrity, expertise, and a positive attitude. Donald is a man of strong faith in God and God's Word. WARNER, HERBERT D. Age 84, Retired Air Force Veteran, and computer programmer for APS went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2013. Herb had just taken a vacation trip with family when he suddenly took his last trip into eternity. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Theresa of 60 years and his daughter Dianne McClure. At his passing he was surrounded by his daughters Barbara J. Ortega, Debby K. Dolt; grandchildren John Dolt, Theresa Martinez Husband Adrian Martinez, and Cameron Encinias. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and his dedicated friend Alma Merck. A memorial celebrating Herb's life will be held on July 11th from 11:00am - 2:00pm with burial SFNC on July 12th at 11:15am. Arrangements by Riverside, 225 San Mateo NE.

CARGO, DAVID F., GOVERNOR 1929-2013 David Cargo, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, July 5, 2013. He was born in Dowagiac, Michigan, the eldest of three children born to Francis and Mary (Harton) Cargo. He earned his Bachelor's degree, Master of Public Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and moved to New Mexico to practice law in 1957. He served as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from 1963 to 1966 before being elected as the state's youngest Governor at age 37 and served two terms between 1967-1971. As governor, Cargo "Lonesome Dave," started the first state film commission in the United States which has brought millions of dollars in revenue to the state of New Mexico. Cargo established ties to Hollywood and was even asked to appear in several films. In 1969, he made a cameo appearance in a Western "The Good Guys and the Bad Guys," and in 1971 appeared in "Bunny O'Hare" with Bette Davis and Ernest Borgnine. Cargo counted as accomplishments his creation of a Human Rights Commission and many libraries throughout the State of New Mexico. Survivors include five children, Veronica, David, Patrick, Elena and Eamon; as well as his five grandchildren, Kevin, Jordan Patrick, Reese, Maddie, and Kieran. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Cargo, and wife, Barbara, of Syracuse, NY. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Ida Jo Anaya, and brother, John Cargo. Governor Cargo will lie in state in the Rotunda of the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Rotunda at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 12, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, 131 Cathedral Pl., Santa Fe. GALLEGOS, TONY R. Age 70, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away in his home Friday, July 5, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma; his two children: son, Lonnie and his fiancee, Beverly and daughter, Regina and husband, Jeff; grandson, James and wife, Natalie; granddaughter, Haley "Mijita"; and special god-daughter, Jessica. JONES, LAWREN D. Age 59, died July 6, 2013. He was born in Dallas, Texas on February 4, 1954 and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1957. He has been a business owner/ entrepreneur for the past 30+ years. Lawren was an active member of the racing community. He was preceded in death by his parents J.W. and Dorothy Jones. Lawren is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Christina; his son, Shawn; daughter-in-law, Colleen; his granddaughters, Caitlin, Taylor and Natalie; and grandson Tyler. KING, RICHARD H. Passed away in Albuquerque, July 5, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Julianne; and by sisters Doris J. Robbins of Sarasota, FL and Marie Fishetti of Los Gatos, CA. He was a member of the Duke City Barbershop Chorus, a life member of Amity Lodge A.F.&A.M., and avid golfer, bowler and metal-detecting hobbyist.
