ARCHULETA, LILLY PETRA Lilly Petra Archuleta, age 79, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away October 29, 2013 at UNM Hospital. Lilly was born October 28, 1934 in Ranchos de Taos to Lecadio & Victoria Duran. She graduated from Taos High School, loved to play bingo, and was a member of Church of the Risen Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad Archuleta; daughter, Debbie Archuleta; sons, Anthony Archuleta, Michael, Manuel; brothers, Joe, Edwin, Maggie; sisters, Clara, Alice, Cecilla, Lydia, Rose. BARNOW, BRUCE Bruce Donald Barnow passed away on January 8, 2013, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Barnow was born on October 25, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. Bruce is survived by Barry Barnow, brother; Penny Barnow, sister-in-law; Jeff Barnow, nephew; Will Barnow, nephew; and Allison Barnow, niece.

BARTH, ARTHUR age 87, passed into the arms of Jesus Christ on October 24, 2013. He was born in Albuquerque on March 15, 1925. At 17 he volunteered for the Marine Corps 5th Div., and was sent to the South Pacific. He fought at Iwo Jima, and was proud to be a member of the Division that raised the flag. He married Ascension "Senny" Borrego of Santa Cruz, NM. in 1950. He worked in Los Alamos as a police officer and firefighter. Arthur also worked as a firefighter at the former Sandia AFB for 30 years. He was social, enjoyed going to the casino with his brother Jim, and loved to cook. He was active in the Queen of Heaven Church as an usher and choir member. He prayed the rosary often. He will be missed by all! He was preceded in death by parents Louis and Emilia Barth of Albuquerque, wife Senny, daughter Elizabeth, brothers Ben, Jake, Louis and wife Sally, Solomon and wife Ruth, sisters Tomasita Stone and husband JD, Irene Martin, Gertrude Sorensen and husband John, and Lina, husband Walker Jensen, infant sister Nellie, niece Mathilda Lucero, and sadly, other nieces and nephews and cousins. Athur is survived by daughter Victoria Valencia; son Robert Barth; grandson Andres Sedillo and wife Frances and grandson Joel Horner; great-grandsons AJ and Antonio, great granddaughters Julianna and Emma. He is also survived by younger brother James; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to Beatriz, Vanessa, and Isaiah Robles for their longtime caretaking of Arthuro. CHAVEZ, RICHARD ALLEN husband, father, grandfather & friend, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 22nd 2013. He is survived by Rosalinda, daughter Gloria Benjamin and son-in-law Steven Benjamin, their children Janessa, Diego, and another child yet to be born; sons, Phillip Jaramillo and Robertrey Jaramillo and family, wife Andrea, their children Alexandria, Robertrey, Dominique, Michael. Grandma Lena Griego, mother Vicky. Brothers Michael, & Robert Chavez and Bill Fay. Sisters Danette, and Nita. Many nieces, nephews and many friends. DUFAULT, DOROTHY MAY Age 94, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Wakefield, MA on December 24, 1918 to John and May Hennessey (deceased). She was preceded in death by her brother John F. Hennessey. Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert (Momi) Dufault of Colorado Springs, CO, Joan (Jim) Haviland of Pembroke, MA, J. Mark (Millie) Dufault of Litchfield, NH and William (Ellen) Dufault of Albuquerque, NM. "Dot" graduated from Wakefield High School in 1936 and went on to earn her R.N. license at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was proud of her medical knowledge and spent her career assisting in the operating room. "Dot" married her sweetheart, Joseph P. Dufault of Wakefield, MA in 1942. Her "Joe" passed away in January 2003. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel. ESPINOSA, ROSALIE L. age 90, born in Quemado, NM, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on October 28, 2013. Mrs. Espinosa is survived by her beloved husband of seventy-one years. Mr. Ricardo Espinosa; children, Doddie Espinosa de Ortega and husband, Carlos, and Rickey Espinosa and wife, Crista; sister, Guadalupe Volpert and husband, Jim; brother, Filimon Tello; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Espinosa was preceded in death by her daughter, Celina J. Timm; and granddaughter, Stephanie Espinosa. Mrs. Espinosa was a member of the Catholic Church, past member of Holy Family and San Felipe Choirs and a Catechism Teacher at Holy Family Catholic Church and in Los Angeles, CA. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. by Carlos Ortega. FRY, WILLIAM FRANKLIN Age 97, died on October 27, 2013. He was born September 20, 1916, to Roy Fry and Irma Carson Fry in Kline, Colorado. He spent much of his happy childhood in Farmington and Aztec, New Mexico. In 1941 he was drafted and served in World War II in the Pacific and European theaters. After the war, he lived in Albuquerque and attended the University of New Mexico on the GI Bill. He was a civil engineer with the federal government for his entire career, where troubleshooting became his specialty. Bill was a charter member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, then a member of Cross of Hope Church, and, at the time of his death, he was an active member of New Covenant Church. He was committed to charitable work and volunteered for many activities throughout his life. He was a volunteer for ARTA (Appropriate Rural Technology Association), which helped the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico to develop more efficient agricultural methods. He volunteered with Presbyterian Hospital hospice and was active in many church-related ministries. Gardening was Bill's passion, and his gardens were totally organic long before most people knew what organic gardening was. He was a member of the New Mexico Organic Growers' Association and helped the organization draft and promote the first New Mexico statute governing organic agricultural commodities. Bill had two happy marriages: first to Mary Eleanor McKenzie Fry for 42 years (until her death in 1989), and then to Beverly Fry for 22 years. He is survived by his wife Beverly; daughter Kathryn Fry and her husband Colonel Robert Bower, daughter Cynthia Fry and her husband Daymon Ely; grandsons James MacPherson and Asher Ely; granddaughter Rachel Ely; sister Muriel Lisignoli; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a joyful, curious, and generous man, and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa NE, Albuquerque, on November 16, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice.

KAHAWAI, CHANDLER (LANI) age 52, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away after battling esophageal cancer on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Lani was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Kahawai; brother, Charles Kahawai; brothers-in-laws, Paul (Tony) Nuanes, Steve Nuanes, and Steve Moya. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Debbie; sons, Paul Lopez and wife Melissa, Chandler Kahawai, Joshua Kahawai and Jordan Kahawai; and daughter, Janelle Lopez; grandchildren, Shayla, Nylie, Xavier and Tayden. Lani is also survived by his father, Charles Kahawai of Hawaii; father-in-law, Paul R. Nuanes and wife Grace; siblings, Charlene Inouye and husband Yoshi, Carl Kahawai and wife Ahulani, Chanley Kahawai and wife Kelly; Anthony Moya and wife Patricia, Stanley Moya and wife Priscilla, Andrew Nuanes and wife Marina, Richard Nuanes, Arnold Moya; sister-in-laws, Marilyn Kahawai, Sylvia Nuanes, Lori Nuanes, Bea Nuanes and Anna Moya; Hawaiian sister Kalani Hawn and husband Bill; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; numerous friends; and colleagues who will miss him dearly. Lani was employed with United States Post Office. His hobbies included working out, spending time with family, and dancing hula. Services will be on Thursday, October 31st beginning with the Condolence line at 12:30 p.m., followed by services starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1352 San Juan Drive, Santa Fe, NM, 87505. KOLB, ALBERT CROWELL Al was born 11-7-1920 in Madera, CA and left this world for his next adventure on 10-23-2013. His family moved to Monterey, CA when he was just an infant, where they had a chicken farm on "Kolb Avenue". After working his way through high school and college he received Bachelors and Masters Degrees at UC Davis and a Masters in Education at ASU. He served in the Pacific in the Fourth NCB Battalion on the USS Highlands during WWII and retired from the Navy Reserves as a Lt. Commander. During the 1950's he managed 100 men and 10,000 acres of farm land for Heidrick Brothers Farms of Woodland, CA. In the 1960's he started a new career as a teacher at Carmel Middle School and served 2 years on the CA State Commission on Teacher Preparation and Licensing in Sacramento. In 1973-74 he was honored to be included in a "teacher exchange program" and taught school in Ararat, Victoria, Australia. Over many summers he and his step-sons and their friends built a mountain cabin above Durango CO - without benefit of electricity or running water. His passion was knitting and he knitted well over 2,000 garments that were donated to ARCA group homes, homeless shelters and the "preemie" ward of UNMH. He donated just under 30 gallons of blood not including that during WWII. He was a member of the Masons and a past member of the Sierra Vista Civitan Club. A memorial service will be held in Durango, CO at a later date. He is survived by his wife Gloria; sons Steve (Rilla) of Jacksonville FL, Chuck (Kim) of Woodland, CA and Ken (Jean) of CA; step-children Twila Donaldson of Albuquerque, Terry Vaughan and Tim Vaughan of Durango, CO; and ten grandchildren. He was a big man with a big heart, so in lieu of flowers the family requests that you do something nice for someone else.

MILLER, JANE S. Age 88, born in Hillsboro, raised in Hot Springs and a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 26, 2013. She is survived by her sons, Thomas L. Miller and wife Pamela J. Engel of Albuquerque, James D. Miller and wife Anna of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Garrett and wife Ellen, Josh and wife Laurie, Jenise and husband Brian, Randy, Trinity; 11 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Clair, her parents Charles and Lydia Jane Stiles, and her five siblings. Lydia was a member of the Methodist Church. ROMERO, MARY PALLADINI passed away peacefully after a mild stroke on Monday evening, October 21st, with her family by her side. She was born September 13, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Romero and son Kenneth Romero. Mary was also preceded in death by her brothers Eric Palladini and Bob Palladini. She is survived by her five sons, Arthur L Romero, Vic A Romero, Dave L Romero, Mike Romero and Robert (Dino) Romero and her loving sister, Gloria Palladini. Mary has 16 wonderful grandchildren. Mary was known for her love of music and dancing. She danced at the local senior center till her mid 80's. Her children were fortunate to have such a kind and loving mom who worked tirelessly to make sure they were well cared for. She will remain in the hearts of all who knew her as a very loving and caring woman who always had food on the table for anyone who happened to stop by. Her chili recipes have been passed down to many of her children and grandchildren. We will have a Celebration of Mary's life on Sunday, November 3rd. The family would also like to thank Hospice of New Mexico and nurse Debe for helping the Romero family.

SATTERFIELD, JANET E. On Saturday, October 26, 2013 Janet (Jay Jay) Elaine Satterfield, born in Greeley, Colorado, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. Janet was well known for her large heart and open door policy. She brought love, opportunity and passion to the lives of many people. Janet is survived by her eldest son Shawn and wife Dixie and their son Emric; by her youngest son Justin; her mother Lois; her eldest sister Jacquelyn; her oldest brother Monty; and her younger brother Jeff; plus her numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends and her many adopted kids. TIFFANY, ROBERT RISK (BOB) passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born January 22, 1929 to Howard S. and Katherine R. Tiffany in Chicago, IL. His father was a pilot and his family moved several times during his youth. Bob graduated from Sea Cliff High School in Sea Cliff, Long Island, NY in 1946. He attended Valley Forge Military Institute and the University of New Mexico. Bob moved to Taos, NM in 1954 with his parents following their retirement. He worked briefly for the US Forest Service but soon joined the Molybdenum Corporation of America where he would spend the rest of his career. He met his future wife, Jeanette in 1956. She was employed as a teacher at the Alice Hyson Mission School in Ranchos de Taos. They were married on December 21, 1956 at the Tiffany ranch near Taos. Their first home was a drafty, company owned cabin on the mine site near Questa. They later built a home on Cabresto Road in the village of Questa. The marriage produced two sons, Robert Bruce in 1959 and Thomas Warren in 1960. Bob was active in community affairs for many years, serving on the Questa School Board and helping found High Country Crime Stoppers. Bob loved hunting and fishing and traveling by Jeep in the mountains. He retired in 1988 and moved with Jeanette to the area near Alameda. Retirement allowed more time for Bob to enjoy his boat and motor home and he frequently fished at Heron Lake near Chama. Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanette; a younger brother, Jim; two sons, Robert Bruce (Connie), Thomas Warren (Debbie); and three grandsons, Logan Thomas, Austin Robert and Evan Walker; as well as a number of nieces and nephews and good friends. A service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at French - WYOMING. Interment will take place at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, TX on Saturday, November 2, 2013. VALENCIA, CLEO ANN Age 55, passed away after suffering with cancer for many years, on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was born in Texas on June 3, 1958 to Fred R. Martinez and the late Cleo A Martinez. She was survived by her husband Martin Valencia, daughter Sara and grandsons Ethan and Matthew Kimmell. She lived in Bernalillo, NM. She will be remembered as loving mother, loving grandmother, sister, godmother and friends to many people. She loved to gather with all the family. Many children looked up to her in a mother like figure. She loved and took them into her home as if they were her own. She love to help raise her grandsons Ethan and Matthew Kimmell along with their mother Sara, they were the love of her life. She loved her nieces and nephews and would provide and care for them anyway she could. She was very dedicated to the Catholic Church; she volunteered to teach CCD-Religious class for Kindergarten children. She also volunteered as a team member on weekends of Christian Living to share her life experiences. A rosary will be recited on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 7:15 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. A second rosary will be recited on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Santa Clara Catholic Church in Wagon Mound at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Then she will be laid to rest in Wagon Mound, NM alongside her Mother Cleo A. Martinez that recently passed away on October 10, 2013 and her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Felix Archuleta. Pallbearers will be Ethan and Matthew Kimmell, Kim Freehoff and Steven Hayden.
