BECK, SOPHIA Age 80, a resident of Bernalillo, died Sunday, July 28, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Waldon Beck of Bernalillo, NM; and daughter, Benita Shawn and husband John R. Mitchell. Sophia was preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo DeSales and Belen Beatrice Martinez. Sophia was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Thursday, August 1, 2013, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. DURAN, LEONOR Age 87, beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal life, Sunday, July 28, 2013. She was a resident of Cuba, NM, where she a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Leonor enjoyed embroidering, sewing, cooking, singing, dancing and traveling. She was preceded in death by three children, Dorella Nagel, Rudy and Ruby Duran. Leonor is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Frank Duran; her children, Rose Velasquez, Theresa Archibeque and husband Eugene, Dolores Montoya and husband Mike, Feddie Jaquez and husband Albert, Harold Duran and wife Zula, LaVern McDaniel and husband Terry, Lonnie Duran, Joann Rosner and husband Ray; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other numerous relatives and friends. Leonor will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 7:30 p.m at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the La Jara Cemetery. EMERSON, CASSIE AGNES LOUISE PEARCE "MAMAW" was born November 13, 1920 in Morristown, Tennessee. She passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at home with her devoted daughter, Bunnie, by her side. She worked at the Albuquerque Publishing Company and retired after 20 years of service. Cassie enjoyed crocheting, quilting and doing her crossword and sodoku puzzles. She loved to cook and was always preparing wonderful food for everyone. Above all, Cassie loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Warwick; by her second husband, Bobby Emerson; her son, Rick Warwick and by her brother, Robert R. Pearce. Cassie is survived by her daughter, Cassie "Bunnie" Reese; five grandchildren, Denise Norris, Staci Dailey, Liz Montgomery, Aim'ee Coates and Pearce Warwick; twelve great grandchildren; daughter in-law, Lois J. Warwick; as well as numerous family and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her. A Funeral Service will be held at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano Rd NW on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 12:00 noon, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 am. GAYER, ROBERT KENNETH Bob was born to the late Ed and Helen Gayer, May 29, 1933 in Amhurst, Ohio. He graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1951 and attended Ohio State for two years. He married Laura M. Fisher August 20, 1955 in Downers Grove, Illinois. He worked for Socony Vacuum, which is now Exxon-Mobil for 36 years. He retired in 1990 and moved to Hunt, Texas where he and Laurie designed and built their dream home, which was right in line with his amazing abilities as a handyman. Bob served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and was in the reserves for another 6 years. He was very active in scouting and YMCA programs with his children. Bob enjoyed woodturning and was a member of the Hill Country Turners Club in Kerrville, Texas. He also enjoyed traveling and hunting. Bob was an active member of the Hunt United Methodist Church for 21 years. Bob is survived by his wife Laurie and three children: Cheryl Lynn; Jeffery Alan and his wife Sabrina; and Steven Robert and his wife Joanne. Bob is also survived by four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. He will be dearly remembered for his good sense of humor, his easy-going ways and his deep love for his family. GRAHAM, MAGDALENA Age 83, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 1975, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, James Graham; sister, Josephine; and four brothers, Arnold, Teddy, Bruce and Frank. Magdalena is survived by her sister, Rudy Tulluck of New York; sons, Tony Graham and Armando Graham, both of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter, Sydnee Jordan Graham of Rio Rancho, NM; grandson, Armando C. Graham, II of Baltimore, MD; great-grandsons, Christopher, Jacob, and Amaurie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Magdalena was born to Arnold Benjamin and Carmen Beatriz South on September 6, 1929 in Panama City, Panama. She married James Graham on September 27, 1952 and later moved to the United States. She attended Queens College in New York receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree. She had a career in the New York Educational System as an Administrator. She then attended the University of New Mexico receiving her Master's degree in Criminal Science. In New Mexico Magda worked for the State under Governor Toney Anaya and was appointed Judge to the State Probation and Parole Board. From there she moved on to become a planner for the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreational Department until she retired in 1994. She was an active member of the Calvary Church in Rio Rancho and provided couples marriage and family counseling. Magda had a lovely singing voice and sang in her church choir and publicly when she was young. Magdalena and her husband James were founding board members for "Friends of Many Cultures" and the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho NAACP and they served as Sandoval County Election Presiding Judges for many years. She was also an active member of the New Mexico Red Hat Society. Magda lived a full and loving life dedicated to community, family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Calvary Chapel of Rio Rancho, 138 Frontage Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM. LARI, JOSEPH RASHEED Age 26, born in Albuquerque on December 16, 1986 left this world for a new Journey with God on Thursday July 25, 2013. Joseph is survived by parents, Rochelle Gurule Lari and Mohammad Reza Lari; his brother, Daniel Lari; precious son, Dylan "Dilly" Rasheed Lari; loving partner, Serena Willet; grandparents, Angie (Jim Vergo) Gurule-Vergo, grandmother Zahra Sultan Tahanzadeh; his loving Tia, Cyndie Abeyta and Uncle Luis Abeyta of Albuquerque; and cousins, Francisco, Angela (Joe) and Maria Abeyta, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by uncles and aunts, Fatima, Hamid, Naheed, Sima, Behrooz, Mina, Jilah, Bobak, and Behzad Lari of Iran; many cousins and his loving extended family and friends. Joseph was preceded in death on his journey to be reunited with grandfathers, Frank T. Gurule and Assadulah Lari. Joseph was an up and coming MMA Fighter and Personal Trainer. LUJAN, AUGUSTINA Augustina passed away on July 25th. Augustina was preceded in death by her husband Abesline; her son Bill; her parents Nestor and Clara Augilar; and her siblings. She is survived by her sister Lucy Hernandez; her children: Clara Roybal, Leo Lujan and wife Eileen, Lucy Sanchez, Cristine Lujan, Patricia Abbott and husband John, Gilbert Lujan, Betty Lujan, Susy Maestas and husband Michael; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. MOORE, RICKIE LEANNE passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2013 at the age of 59. She was born in Ulysses, Kansas, Rickie grew up with a strong love for animals. She devoted over 13 years of her life to a career in law enforcement. She eventually landed in New Mexico where she lived happily with her two Shih-Tzu's. Rickie was fond of music and enjoyed playing piano in her free time. This warmhearted woman was a dedicated believer in Jesus Christ and will live eternally in His arms. Rickie is survived by children, Raynie Moore and Wyndee (Frank) Pacheco of NM, Dustin (Randi) Moore of TX; grandchildren, Chase Moore of NM, Cameron Moore, Ashley (Kenneth) Burns, Bryan and Harley Moore of TX; parents, her Kenneth and Joann Patterson of KS; brothers, Jo Bob (Sherry) Patterson and Norman (Diane) Patterson of KS; sister, Tammy (Gary) Chandler of KS. WEILAND, HANK died suddenly July 14, 2013 He was a three time Army purple heart recipient in Vietnam.He was known by most of New Mexico 10,000 bowling member's as well as those from his home state Michigan.He is survived by his cousin Gert Olson and her husband Josoph. The CNBA will have a memorial service to honor him as President and friend ,at Silva Lanes 3010 Eubank N.E. Albuquerque August 3rd from 11:00 to 1:00 pm A family memorial will be held in September at St John church in Adrian, Michigan with interment at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.May God Bless Hank Weiland
