DMITRIEV, SERGEY born March 20, 1972, Sergey Dmitriev passed away July 13, 2013. He is survived by his son Daniel; daughter Zoe; and wife Lyudmyla, of Albuquerque; his sister Tania and nephew Pavel of San Petersburg, Russia. Sergey is also survived by a host of friends from around the world. FRENCH, DARELL LEE Age 69, a resident of Tijeras, died peacefully with a smile on his face on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was at home with his family. He is survived by wife, Kay; children, Susan Martinez, Jeff Becke, Daniel French and Anthony French; siblings Dwight, Dale and Phyllis. Darell was preceded in death by his parents, Orvis and Florence and sister, Loretta. Darell was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed. GEISHEIMER, JOANN C. Age 79, a resident of Rio Rancho for 21 years, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 7, 1934, to Nicholas & Phyllis Passalaqua (Rubertucci). She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Erica Marie Geisheimer. Joann is survived by husband, James A. Geisheimer of Rio Rancho, NM; children, Karen Marie Novak and husband, Stan, of Holden, ME, Jean Marie Todd of Richmond, VA, Robert Joseph Geisheimer of Dallas, TX, Eric John Geisheimer of Phoenix, AZ, Elissa Marie Osworth and husband, Reverend Adam, of Guttenberg, IA, John David Geisheimer and wife, Elizabeth, of Glen Allen, VA; grandchildren, Nikki Novak, Joey Novak, John "Lucien" Todd, Michael Todd, Ava Geisheimer, Braeden Geisheimer; brother, Joseph Passalaqua and wife, Nancy, of Evans, GA; brother-in-law, Robert Geisheimer and wife, Eleanore; sister-in-law, Clare Powell. Joann was a devoted member of the Church of the Incarnation. She was a teacher in (CCD), Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and the former head the Lector Ministry. In her spare time she enjoyed painting and decorating her home, needlework and crocheting. Joann will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. GIDDINGS, JAMES R. James went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. James is survived by his wife, Angela E. Giddings; his son, Nicolas A. Giddings; his parents: John and Mary Helen Giddings; his brothers: Michael and wife Dina, John, and Johnny Giddings; his sisters: Michelle Giddings, and Monica and husband John Peck; his god-daughter Julie Ann; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and pets. James was a loving husband, a father, a son and a brother, who was loved by everyone, and was kind with a big heart. He enjoyed his pets, yard work, music, the Dallas Cowboys, and the LA Lakers. James is very proud of his son's education, his ability to play the guitar, and that he will graduate from the Albuquerque Academy. He has finally found comfort and eternal happiness in his final resting place. James' Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (309 Stover Ave SW), on July 19, at 7:00pm. GONZALES, JOAN MARGARET Joan, age 71, went to be with our Lord very peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2013, surrounded by so much love. Our loss is heaven's gain. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Lopez and her husband, Greg and Jeannette Griego and her husband, Ken; her son, Kenny and his wife, Linda; her grandchildren, Nikki, Amanda, Kenzi, Casey, Dominic, Alex, Kenny, Jr., Jenae, and Beau; great-grandchildren, Mika, Jasmine, and Delicia; brothers, Daniel and Carlos; and sisters, Angie, Patsy, Josephine and Nanette; all of the brothers and sisters from her church; and very special and caring people, Elvida and Charlotte. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved son, Patrick Gonzales; and mother, Alice Galindre. Joan was an active member of Restoration Ministry Church. MATHES, GRANT DAVID "DAVE" Age 52, of Albuquerque, passed away after a long illness on Friday, June 28, 2013. He is survived by his parents, Robert "Bob" & Sue Toney Mathes; sisters, Amy Sanchez and Kelly Mathes and husband, BJ Nigh; nieces, Nicole Sanchez and Hannah Nigh; nephews, Justin Sanchez and Rowan Nigh; grandmother, Francis Bradley; and close friends. Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Tracy Lynn Mathes; brother-in-law, John D. Sanchez; grandparents, Alice Neel and Benjamin F. Toney, and Wesley D. Mathes. PROFITT, KIRK LANCE "CHOPO" Kirk passed away the week of July 9, 2013. Kirk was born in Phoenix, AZ, on August 13, 1962. He was a dispatcher for the Albuquerque Police Department for 16 years. He previously had fought wild fires for the forest service and served in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Milburn Profit, mother Amelia Angelita Chalakee, and sister Nancy Elizabeth Profitt. He is survived by stepfather Billy Webster Chalakee; siblings Roy Milburn Profitt, Jodi Lynn Profitt, Mollie Angela Profitt, Jeffrey Todd Truelove Chalakee, Billy Webster Chalakee, and Anton Alejandro Profitt. Kirk is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all. Kirk will live on in our hearts. SMYTH, DOROTHY LILLIAN Age 79, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leo R. Smyth; son, Robert Smyth and wife, Sonya of Albuquerque, Larry Smyth of Edgewood; & daughter, Kathleen Walsh and husband, John of Edgewood; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Franklin and Grace Lillian (Ruppe) Johnson, as well as her brothers and sister, Joe and Bill Johnson, Tom and Claude Spindle and Helen Chavez. Dorothy loved music, participating in singing, playing and directing church music her entire life. She had a passion for flowers, owning and operating two successful flower shops in Albuquerque. STANHOPE, NATALIE JANE MCCALL passed away peacefully on July 12, 2013, after a long illness, she was 88. She was born in Woodston, Kansas to Henry and Emma McCall, on May 12, 1925. She met John Stanhope in 1939, they married on December 24, 1942 in Bremerton, WA. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. They moved from Ellsworth, Kansas to Los Alamos, NM in 1951 and lived in Los Alamos and White Rock then moved to Albuquerque in 1995. Natalie worked at the Los Alamos Medical Center for ten years, she retired when her husband retired from the Zia Company. She volunteered for the Los Alamos Hospital Auxiliary for many years after retirement. They traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada. She also enjoyed a cruise to Jamaica, trips to Hawaii and Alaska. She loved to cook, sew, needlepoint, crochet, and 3D French Art pictures. She attended many Arts & Crafts Shows in the Jemez and Los Alamos areas, including the New Mexico State Fair where she received Blue Ribbons on her work. She loved her family very much, and was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to watch movies, play games like Tripoley and play bridge with groups in Los Alamos and Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma McCall; brother, Walt; her sisters, Mildred and Betty. She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Sondra (husband Dave Mollohan); daughter Cathy; son, Craig (wife Wanda); her grandchildren, David, Laura, Travis and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Michel, Kami and Kaitlin; brothers, Don (wife Joanne) and Bob (wife Edna); special nephews and relatives, Jim and Vanetta Anderson; Steve and Trinh Keirns; Larry and Carol Stanhope; Merna, Ron, Bonnie Stanhope; Cynthia, Kent and Linnette McCall; Cher and Steve; Naomi; also other nephews, nieces and cousins and her loving dog - Sweetie. A memorial will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 4:00pm at The Village of Alameda, 8810 Horizon Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. A private service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. VAROZ, JOSE ABDON Age 92, of Santa Fe, was called by our Lord, Monday, July 15, 2013. Jose was a very loving, caring, and humorous gentleman who enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, spending time with his family, and was a man of great faith. He is survived by his children, Cynthia (Ed) Weiler, Philip (Peg) Varoz, Gloria (Jack) Whitaker, Martha (Mark) Ewing, Agnes Varoz, Judy (Steve) Long, Joseph (Stephanie) Varoz; numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Belarmino Varoz and Reynalda Gonzalez Varoz; wife, Eloisa Trujillo Varoz; daughter, Loretta Jean Varoz; and brothers, Benino, Amarante, Roman, Maximiliano, Aniceto, and Lauriano. He retired after 36 years of service with Los Alamos National Laboratory. Jose was a member of Santa Maria de la Paz. VIGIL, CARLOS Carlos V. Vigil Age 17 Born 12/20/1995 Returned home to our Heavenly Father on July 16, 2013. He enhanced and saved the lives of countless people by loving, smiling and simply walking in a room. He was kind and generous even in his passing by donating his organs. Was on the board of directors for NMX Sports/ Warehouse 508 and served as their President of the Youth Creative Crew. He was the 2014 Freshman class President at Los Lunas High School, lettered at Valley High School in Youth in Government and Mock Trial. Served as the NM youth secretary of homeland security and recently proposed an anti-bullying law at the YMCA conference on National Affairs in North Carolina. He was a proud republican and enjoyed reading books written by James Patterson, loved music, dancing and making people feel beautiful. Carlos was surrounded and loved by his family. WHITTAKER, JACK Age 43, a resident of Corrales, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, after a battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 15 years, Jeannette Martinez Whittaker; their teenage children, Max and Madison, who were the joys of his life; his beloved parents, Dwayne and Bea Whittaker of Albuquerque, NM; his sister, Jill Platow and her husband, Randy of Arkansas; nephew, Scott Platow; niece, Jennifer Weinzetl; his adoring father-in-law and mother-in-law, Levi and Viola Martinez of Los Alamos, NM; brother-in-law, Kenneth Martinez of Los Alamos, NM; brother-in-law, Levi Martinez II of Santa Barbara, CA; sister-in-law, Suzzanna Martinez of Denver; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He attended Temple Baptist Academy and graduated with honors from Manzano High School. He won a DECA scholarship to the University of New Mexico where he studied finance. Jack exemplified the philosophy of carpe diem and lived his life to the fullest. He declared his love for Jeannette on their first date and stated that they would be married and have children, which, to the astonishment of Jeannette, did occur within 5 months. Beginning at a young age, he supervised hundreds of employees in the telecommunications, collections and consumer finance industries and garnered several awards for his leadership and excellence. While employed with Sprint PCS and Sprint/Nextel in Rio Rancho he managed vendor relationships in multiple locations in North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Asia. He traveled with his wife and children to Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Mexico for snorkeling and deep sea fishing and took his wife on anniversary trips to Switzerland, Japan and Canada. Jack was influential in the New Mexico youth soccer community for many years. He supported soccer at all levels, from devoted fan of his son's and daughter's teams, referee, President of Corrales Soccer Club, President of Northwest Rio Grande Soccer League, and NMYSA District Commissioner. One of his greatest gifts was his quick wit and sense of humor. In addition, he loved to cook, bake bread and prepare exquisite gourmet holiday meals. Jack and his father-in-law brewed beer and crafted apple cider and honey mead. Jack also enjoyed reading, gardening and skiing and he is an excellent marksman. His family and friends will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Westside.
