ARNAUDVILLE, LYNN D. On December 30, 2012 Lynn was called home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was 51 years old when she died. She leaves behind her adoring husband, Emile and her three loving sons, Ernest (age 22), Sean (age 7), and William (age 5). She also leaves behind a very large group of family and friends who all loved her very much. Her services will be held at New Beginnings Church on the corner of Carlisle and Montgomery on Saturday, January 26th at 11:00am. She will be missed.

CUNTZ, MARY I. Mary finally lost her long battle with dementia on Monday, January 21, 2013. Maria Ignacia Troncoso was born to Sebastian and Juliana Troncoso on February 13, 1931 in Tome, NM, and lived her early years in Albuquerque. She was a kind and giving person who was loved by all who knew her. Her mother-in-law, Chris, was her special friend and they spent many happy hours together doing things they both loved. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother; an older half-brother, Manuel Flores; a younger brother, Sebastian Troncoso, Jr.; and her very special little boy, Carl Naranjo. She is survived by her spouse, Carl. They were married in New Orleans, LA, in 1958 and returned to New Mexico in 1959. Other survivors include her two sisters, Conception Reed and Theresa Armendariz and husband, Manuel; and many nieces and nephews. Mary worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory for many years. She and her husband have been living in Albuquerque since 1999. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Westside. GIESE, DONALD L. (GALLEGOS) was reunited with his wife Lou Anne on January 22, 2013 at the age of 79. Don was born on December 23, 1933 In Las Vegas, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, stepmother and wife. He is survived by his brother Mike ( Buffy) Gallegos; sister Sherri (Roger) Dumay; daughters Nancy (Henry) Knapp of Lubbock TX, Donna (Ben) Hammock of Lubbock TX and Meg ( Dan) Shea of Apple Valley, MN. He has five grandchildren, Chris (Courtney) Hammock of Lubbock TX, Cassie Knapp of Lubbock TX, Katy Shea of Duluth, MN, Moe Shea of Apple Valley, MN and Donald Knapp of Lubbock TX. He was the keeper of all our family history ensuring our families legacy lived on. He was a proud business man and after retirement he followed his dream and became an artist specializing in his love the New Mexico Landscape. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. A special THANKS to Libby Claunch (his nurse and more importantly his friend) and all the Staff at Southhaven Assisted living who became an interracial part of our family for the past year and loved him as if he were their own. Courtney Hammock who took care of Don and his wife Lou Anne on a day to day basis for four months, Dr. Floyd Pirtle and his staff at Odyssey Hospice and Sami Bailey of direct Home Health. A private ceremony will be held. GLIDEWELL, EVA GARCIA 1922-2013 Eva Garcia Glidewell, age 90, a resident of Belen, NM peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Eva was the very first fiesta queen of Belen. She owned and operated E. Garcia Grocery store and was the founder of Eva's Blue Ribbon Chile. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Marvin "Sugar" Glidewell; and parents, Estanislado and Barbarita Castillo Garcia. Eva is survived by her loving son, Marvin Glidewell and wife, Diane; daughter, Frances Romero and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Jose and Joelle Vigil; and great-grandchildren, Julius and Anna Marie. GUTIERREZ-ZAMORA, ELENA Age 38, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, left us Wednesday, January 23, 2013 after a struggle of over fifteen years with anxiety disorder. She is survived by her mother, Lou Ella Reynolds; siblings, Gina Biazar and husband, Shahram, Dante Gutierrez-Zamora and wife, Leurisa, Nathan Vigil, Erica Gutierrez-Zamora, Humberto Gutierrez-Zamora, Axel Gutierrez-Zamora, and Jose "Pepe" Gutierrez-Zamora. Auntie Lena is also survived by her nephews, Bayan, John, and Marcel; and nieces, Maya, Gemini, and Cordy. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Ariel. JARAMILLO, MANUEL E. Born May 24, 1931, went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Luz Sanchez, parents Miguel and Francisquita, siblings Jose Pete Jaramillo, Mary Luz Angel. He is survived by his wife of sixty years Juanita; sister Trini (Horacio Martinez); sister-in-law Tommie Jaramillo; his children Manuel Jr. (Judy), Ari (Arturo Cervantes), Michael (Irene), Debi, Danny (Vera), Kika (Salome), Bobbie; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, loved ones, and Godchildren. Manuel was retired from GE, a veteran of the US Army, member of Post 69, La Sociedad De Alameda, and St. Vincent De Paul Society. A Rosary will be recited on January 27 at 4pm, and Funeral Mass January 28, 9am. Both will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1860 Griegos Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Interment will follow at Mt. LOWE, SUZETTE Age 62, a resident of Albuquerque, beloved wife of B. James Lowe and his family and by her many friends died on January 20, 2013. Suzette was born in Eugene, OR. When her father was transferred to TriCities, WA, she attended school in PASCO, WA where she had a flawless attendance record during her twelve years of school. She majored in business and graduated with highest WA State honors for her skills in shorthand and typing. Upon graduation, she commenced work the next day at Hanford Nuclear Reservation as an Executive Secretary. She gained accounting skills and became the Accounting Manager for United Nuclear Services, Inc. She left UNC and traveled with her husband in some of his managerial assignments in Seattle, Birmingham, AL, Madison, WI and finally Albuquerque where she has resided with her husband for the last 18 years. She continued to be active as an Executive Secretary for her husband in his varied consulting activities. She served as the Recording Secretary to the Four Hills Homeowner's Association for several years. She was a world traveler in that she visited China, Peru, Venezuela, and the Azores and Portugal independently. She later traveled with her husband to Mexico, Spain, England, Italy and Russia. Her selfless and random acts of kindness were demonstrated in her passion for sewing over 500 Christmas stockings/neck coolers for our soldiers overseas. She also dedicated herself to sewing clothing for premature infants in local hospitals. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Biedel and a sister, Babette of Pasco, WA. She is survived by her husband, Admiral Lowe; a sister, Jeanette Fiore and her nephew, Anthony Fiore of Pasco, WA. Also surviving her are her stepchildren, Steve Lowe, Kimberly Chalkley, Pamela Krieger; daughter-in-law, Leslie Lowe; and sister-in-law, Maureen Lowe. Her many cherished friends include the entire Garrety family of Emmett and Patty and their children, John and Brita, Laurie Riedle, Alfred and Darla Lorber and daughter, Marlene. Very special friends included, Kate Robinson of CT and Patty Fusting of CA. She was widely read and self-educated reading fifty to sixty books a year. She loved Albuquerque and adored her two chocolate labs, Madison and Bentley. A "Remembrance Celebration" will be held at a later date. LUJAN, MARGARITA LOPEZ passed peacefully on January 25, 2013. She loved horses, Corrales, laughing, the lake and dancing. In her last years, her love of dancing remained with her. OTERO, LOUISA 1915-2013 Age 97, a resident of Albuquerque Heights Nursing Home and formerly a resident of Peralta, NM passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. She was always religious, going to church and praying the rosary. The happiest time of her life was praying. Louisa enjoyed bingo, dancing and doing the wedding march for many ceremonies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rumaldo Sr.; sons, Raymond, Lesman, and Rumaldo Jr. (Rudy); sisters, Antonia, Maria and Ofelia; son-in-law, Johnnie Perea Sr.; grandsons, Lesmen Sanchez and Michael Perea; and great-grandson, Lesmen Sanchez Jr. Louisa is survived by her daughters, Mela Perea of Los Lunas and Lucy LaPorte and husband, Richer of CA; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Otero; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-great grandchild. POMPEO, BETTY LOU WILTON Was born December 15, 1926 in Fort Smith, AR. She was the daughter of Anna Elizabeth Keener and Louis Raymond Wilton. After a lengthy bout with emphysema and COPD, Betty Lou passed away on January 22, 2013 at the age of 86. Betty Lou was actively interested in music, drama, and art since early school days. She majored in Music and Arts at Eastern New Mexico University, however transferred and graduated in the "Top 10" of her class of the University of New Mexico in 1947. With music as her passion, she went to New York for further vocal training over a seven year period. She took finishing lessons in Italy specializing as a dramatic soprano, singing several leading roles. Betty Lou also represented the United States at the International Flower Exhibition in Italy. She was a member of many professional societies and organizations such as Kappa Delta Alpha, Sigma Alpha Iota, Pioneer, Silver Key, and Euterpean. She was employed by Santa Fe City Schools as an art teacher for junior high school students. Betty Lou also possessed a great love of fashion design and was a very talented seamstress. She spoke French and German, however was particularly fluent in Italian, which lended to her affinity for singing opera. Her mother, Anna E. Keener, was a prominent Southwest artist and educator, and Betty Lou spent much of her growing years in Taos and Gallup, NM, and enjoyed her vacations at their summer home in Cabresto Canyon. Betty Lou married Ernest Pompeo in Taos, NM on December 22, 1954, sharing a common interest in gardening at their Cadiz Road home in Santa Fe. The Pompeos had always shared a keen interest in sports, both as spectators and participants, by attending many regional football and basketball games. They also enjoyed fishing and riding horses at their mountain home, as well as frequented Coronado Lanes in several bowling leagues. Betty Lou was a majority member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and received the Grand Cross of Color, the highest honor a Rainbow girl can achieve. While raising her daughter, she not only served as a board member for Santa Fe Assembly #10, but also served as a Room Mother for her daughter's classes. Betty Lou is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Pompeo; her daughter, Tsenre Deveraux; son-in-law, Michael Deveraux; and granddaughters, Amber and Lauren Deveraux. Her twin sister was Lou Ann Wilton Hunt. She is also survived by cousin, Robert Linville and his daughters, Linda and Vickie; and niece, Baxanne Doyle and her sons, Kory and Kelly. Betty Lou and Ernest lived in Santa Fe since 1954 and relocated to Albuquerque in June of 2000 to be closer to their daughter and her family. Graveside services for Betty Lou will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. QUINTANA, LOUIS LEROY "LULU" was born on August 3, 1943 in San Francsico, California and passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Felix "Chano" Quintana; his mother, Petra Quintana; and brother, Gilbert Quintana. He is survived by his brothers Robert "Bobby" Quintana of Las Vegas, New Mexico and Alfred "Freddy" Quintana and wife Judy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one aunt, Marylou Gonzales of Las Vegas, New Mexico; one niece and three nephews. Leroy graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, with one tour in Vietnam. He lived in California before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. A funeral Mass will be recited on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph of the Rio Grande, 5901 St. Joseph Drive, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery also on Monday, January, 28, 2013 at 2:15 p.m. Leroy had many interests, which included jewelry making, mountain climbing, and he definitely had a green thumb. He will be greatly missed by all who were a part of his life.

SMITH, MICKEY Mickey "as in mouse and Finn" Smith, 92 years old, living in Albuquerque, passed away on January 24, 2013 in Albuquerque. Mickey was born on October 20, 1920 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She married Bill Smith in January of 1943 and was married to him for 60 years. Mickey is survived by her son, Mike Smith; daughter, Patricia Zundel; grandson, KC Smith and wife Lisa; granddaughters, Dusti Unger and husband John and Terri Smith; along with five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, her grandson, Jimmy Zundel, & daughter-in-law, Susan McCance-Smith. Cremation has taken place and private services will be announced at a later time. TARTER, WESLEY SHANE Shane to friends and family and Papa to his seven grandchildren, went to be with the Lord suddenly at his Rio Rancho home, January 23, 2013. He was 54 years old. Shane and his wife, Karin, were married for almost 30 years and shared their lives with their three wonderful sons: Jeremy Tarter and wife, Angela, Chris Fangio and wife, Melissa, TJ Fangio and wife, Amanda, all of Albuquerque. His grandchildren were his brightest stars and made his days blessed: Anthony Fangio, Kaylin Fangio, Kendra Fangio, Tyler Fangio, Jaycee Tarter, Presley Fangio, and Cash Fangio. He loved to visit with his only sister, Sonja Stanley and husband, Jack, of Amarillo, TX; His nephews were great buddies: Jerry and Tim Stanley; And he loved and honored his parents, Wayne and Betty Tarter of Amarillo TX. Shane was born on March 12, 1958 in Amarillo, Texas and attended Tascosa High School. Shane was a cowboy at heart and lived his life that way. He enjoyed playing his guitar, loved John Wayne movies, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but by far looked forward to and enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and children. He was the support and best friend of his wife, who misses his laughter and songs. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00am MT on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Casa Del Rey Church, 2500 Corona Dr. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87120.
