WEBER -- WARREN ROBERT Was born March 2, 1919, in Pasco, Washington, to parents Benjamin and Adelaide Weber. He was raised in various communities in Washington and graduated from high school in 1935 at the age of 16. He started school at Washington State College (now Washington State University) in 1936 and graduated with honors in 1940 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. That same year, he married, took a job with the Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Interior, and moved to Montana to begin his career. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943, and was initially stationed in Rhode Island. In 1944, he was sent to California to transport men and machinery to Pearl Harbor to help with the rebuilding process. He was then ordered to Okinawa, attached to the 21st Construction Battalion (the Seabees). He was on Okinawa and Saipan for the remainder of the War, and was discharged in January of 1946. He returned to Montana and continued his career with the Bureau. By now, Warren was the proud father of one son and three daughters. He worked hard to raise his family, and spent his spare time hunting and fishing in the Montana mountains. In 1968, he was transferred to Bismarck, ND, where he told stories of driving to work in wind chills of 95 degrees below zero. In 1972, he married Dorothy Mans, and added two more sons to his family. In 1973, Warren was transferred to Albuquerque as the Federal Water Officer for the Bureau. He worked on critical water reclamation projects, including several under the direction of Senator Pete Domenici. He retired in 1981 and found himself busier than ever - golfing, fishing, gardening, playing bridge, and traveling with Dorothy. Warren's life changed dramatically in March, 2010, when Dorothy died. He kept himself busy with his garden, his bridge group, and lunching with his friends known as the Poets Society. As a man who grew up during the Depression, Warren always said he wasn't cheap; he was frugal. However, he was always ready to help others, and especially enjoyed sharing what he grew in his garden. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and a daughter, Deanna Enright. He is survived by his son, Dr. R. David Weber and wife Estella of Whittier, CA; daughter, Linda Lee Austin and husband Erik of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter, Kathy Weber-Slocum of Portage, MI; stepson, William Mans and wife Penny of Anchorage, AK; stepson, Raymond Mans and wife Sarah of Florence, OR; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Weber and wife Rosalie of Sequim, WA. He will also be greatly missed by his neighbors, Jerry and Jaci Coryell; dear friends Mary and Orlando Duran; and his bridge partner Pat Zich. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel. A light reception will follow. Interment will follow the reception at Sunset Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico at 5840 Office Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, or Joy Junction of Albuquerque at P.O.
