AGUILAR -- APRIL "MOKEY" J. Devoted wife of 45 years. Cherished mother and grandmother. Dear friend and a pillar to all who knew her. She had a kind spirit, sharp wit and loved to tease as much as she loved to nurture. She had many interests. She loved to design and decorate, cook and eat good food, to listen to good music, to ride motorcycles and especially loved to spend time with her adoring grandchildren. She was nicknamed "Mokey" by her grandchildren, a title she carried with pride and a name she came to be known by amongst those closest to her. She loved her God Jehovah and faithfully served him as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 40 years. Her love for her friends and family was strong and real. Her advice was solid. You could always count on her. She loved life and was vivacious. We will miss her, our rock, our pillar our Beloved Mokey. She was born on April 20, 1949 and passed away November 11, 2011. She is survived by her husband Glynn Pat Aguilar; son Zane and wife Jessica Aguilar; daughter Heather Aguilar, daughter Reina and husband Sam Montoya; five grandchildren, Dedra, Chloe, Diego, Miguel and Mateo; mother Muriel Griffith; sisters Shawn Locaynia and Kim Lang; brothers Vance and Dan Prendergast. ARRETCHE -- CLARA M. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011. As a teacher of music, she was the band director of the award winning band of Vaughn, New Mexico. At Albuquerque High School, Valley and El Dorado her students of Spanish were ranked in the upper one percent nationally. She was retired from Albuquerque Public Schools. Ms. Arretche was the recipient of Bachelors and Masters of Arts degrees from the University of New Mexico. She did advance work toward her Doctorate degree and was a longtime member of Phi Sigma Iota Honorary Language Society. Among the survivors are cousins, Pierre and Daniella Arretche of Aldudes, France; Virginia Delesandro, Alex Gazolas, Mary Ann Sikora, Frank Nelson, Charles, Richard, Godson Jimmy and David Palmer of Albuquerque. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at French - Universtiy Chapel. AVILA -- MARCOS DAMIAN 52, passed away at his home after a longtime illness on November 4, 2011. He is survived by his mother Carolina Vallejo Avila; siblings, Maria C. Avila, Alberto Avila Jr., Flora Mascarenas, Silvana Roybal, Edward Avila and Richard Avila; his children, Dominic Avila and Estar Avila. He served in the US Army and was a disabled veteran. A private ceremony will take place for friends and family. Please remember Marcos Damian, our brother as a "carefree spirit" and always "young and heart". BARRON -- LILLIAN Beloved mother and wife, passed away November 10, 2011, at age 94. She is survived by three sons-Lloyd, Scott, and Rex; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her parents immigrated from Norway and had three daughters, of which she was the middle. BROWN-BARRS -- MYRTLE DAY Departed this life suddenly on Friday, November 11 at University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Born on September 11, 1931 in Rougemont, North Carolina, Myrtle graduated from Hillside High School in 1949 and attended North Carolina College. She married Staff Sgt. William H. Brown and traveled the world with him, finally settling in Albuquerque in 1958. She began a career in health services at Presbyterian Hospital in 1963. 25 years later in May 1988, she retired from Presbyterian Hospital where she started as a CNA and ended her career there in hospital administration. Myrtle continued to contribute to the welfare of others after her retirement by working as a home health aide, specializing in hospice care. She enjoyed the second phase of her work life because it allowed her to help people that needed special attention. She will be remembered as a real caring and loving person. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Day; mother Ila Day; her stepmother, Josephine Day; her brother Earlie Day; her first husband, William H. Brown; and her second husband, Rubin Barrs, Jr. She is survived by her companion of 15 years, Harold C. Narvaez; five children, Maggie-Jo Brown, William A. Brown, Earlie W. Brown (Angie), Samyra (Suzanne) Rogers, and Dennis X. Brown; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Paco-James. CLAUSS -- JOSHUA DAVID Age 29, died November 4, 2011, after a brief illness at University Hospital. He lived his life exuberantly in Albuquerque, Belen, and Honolulu. Joshua was the beloved son of David and Donna Clauss, a loving brother to his beloved sister Rokeya Clauss Jaramillo and her husband Raymond Jaramillo, whom, he regarded as a brother, to his sister, Shannez Clauss Weare and her husband Dr. John Weare, to his baby sister, SooJee Annah Clauss, to his beloved brother Jeremy Francesco Clauss and his wife Jeannie, and to his brother Jordan Zacharias Clauss. He is the beloved earthly twin to his cousin, Meghan Oleson Schleyer, with whom he shared an inextricable life long bond, and her husband Matthew Schleyer, whom he also regarded as a brother. He is also survived by his niece Isabella Elise Jaramillo, whom he loved beyond measure and with whom he spent countless hours of play and adventure which is why he was regarded as her favorite child sitter, by his loving niece Anya Hoffman and nephew Avrian Hoffman, and by his grandmother, Helen, Clauss. He was preceded in death by his aunt Barbara, Grandmother Elise and Grandfather Ueal Bell and Grandfather Frederick Clauss. Joshua finished his earthly journey surrounded by those he loved most in this world, his family. Joshua attended high school in Belen and Los Lunas. Following high school, he attended UNM, University of Hawaii and N.M. Tech, with majors in science, foreign language and mathematics. He aspired to attend Veterinary school in Colorado. He will be most remembered for his evenings of rock band with his siblings, his wit at regular family gatherings, his unconditional love and positive regard for family and friends, his compassionate zeal for life, his zest for travel and adventure, his love of foreign languages, culture, photography, cardio workouts, dance, music, love of animals and for Skyping with sister SooJee, to tutor her in physics and calculus. He was ever sensitive to the homeless, to orphaned pets, and to those in need. During his brief life he worked for NM Donor services, for Defined Fitness, as a Veterinary Tech, and an EMT and firefighter with the Los Chavez Fire Dept. and briefly with the Raton Fire Dept. Josh was a gentle soul, who always had wit, humor and an infectious smile. He was a friend to all whom he met and ready to help a person in need. He was humble, compassionate, loving and charitable. He had a strong faith which carried him through life's challenges and sustained him while he fought his final battle. He will be unimaginably missed by his family and friends. While his time with us was much too short, we all feel blessed to have known him, laughed with him and loved him these past years 29 years. Each moment was priceless. We thank the staff at University Hospital and clinics for their valiant efforts and comforting kindness to Josh and to our family. Please join us in celebrating Josh's life on Saturday, November 19, at 10:30 a.m. for the Mass of the Resurrection at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd., on the UNM campus. DOMINGUEZ -- KEVIN Was born July 26, 1947 of his parents Raul and Christina Dominguez. Kevin was the oldest of seven children, his siblings included Orae, Roland, Ronald, Stephanie, Renee and Rebecca. Kevin grew up in Albuquerque, NM. In high school he was the lead singer of the band "The Kings and I". He graduated from Monzano High School. Following high school he entered the Army where he reached the rank of Sergeant. After completing his three years in the service he then entered the Mount Angel Seminary. After studying a couple of years in the seminary he later found an opportunity to become a commercial fisherman out of the state of Oregon. After earning his master papers in just two years of fishing he met Lorrie Abercrombie and later married. When he found out they were pregnant with their first child the couple moved back to Kevin's home in New Mexico. His first child David was born June '83 and later his second child Jessica was born January '85. During this time he started working and earning his refrigeration, and electrical licenses and later worked maintenance for Lovelace Hospital. While employed with Lovelace he became a power plant technician and continued to work as a technician for several locations and hospitals. Kevin passed on November 12, 2011 at the age of 64. Kevin was a great man and an amazing father. He showed nothing but respect to anyone he met and as a result made many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Dominguez; his sister, Stephanie Coleman. He is survived by his two children, David and Jessica Dominguez; three grandchildren, Isabella, Alyssa, and Jasmine who meant the world to him. You will be forever loved and missed as a son, brother, uncle, father, and grandpa. PAEZ -- MARY CLARA Age 90, a precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 14, 2011. RELYEA -- CAROL JO STROOPE Age 61, died November 11, 2011, with her family by her side in Los Alamos, New Mexico. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18th,2011 10:00 a.m. at Pueblo Gym, Los Alamos; followed by a graveside service at Guaje Pines Cemetary. She was born May 21, 1950, in Aline, Oklahoma to Henry and Marian Stroope. She graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1968. After graduation, Carol moved to Gallup where she worked for the schools. In 1996, she returned to her true home, Los Alamos and joined the LAPS family for over 15 years. Carol touched many lives and will be truly missed. Her interests included family, reading, antiques and spending time with close friends. She devoted much of her time and energy as a strong supportive mother and friend including taking care of her mother until she passed away at age 74. He was born to the late Lillian (Ruberg) and Bill Walde on July 27, 1925, in the East Boyer Township of Crawford County, Iowa. He attended the East Boyer Township School #8 until he was required to work the farm. To his credit, he received his GED with honors in 1992. He was baptized and confirmed into the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison Iowa. Ed has been a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1970. He was a paint contractor and enjoyed giving his time to help others. He served his community on the Graffiti Task Force and Meals on Wheels. He was the past president of Duke City Singles Square Dance Club as well as a member and past Board of Trustees of the Asbury United Methodist Church. As a self proclaimed tennis pro, Ed enjoyed challenging others to a tennis match or a game of cards. He was happiest making memories with his family and friends and his humor will be sorely missed. Ed is survived by best friend and wife, Joan Fuller Walde. They recently celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary. Ed is also survived by his four daughters and son: Karen and husband, Ron Keyworth, Deb and husband, Ken Garber, Judi and husband, Kel Gillham, Janet and husband Rosendo Griego, and son, Steve, and Anita Walde. His blended sons and daughters are Larry and Roene Fuller, John and Barbara Fuller, Diana and Tom Boyd. He is survived by 22 grandchildren, Santos Trujillo, Chad Walde, Penny Lenz, Nicole Barker, Nathan Deterding, Christopher Garber, Heather Jackson, Melissa Osai, Leah Frazier, Daniel Griego, Erin Gillham, Kris Gillham, Kelvin Walde, Samantha Sebranek, Lance Cleveland, Shane Cleveland, Troy Fuller, Jody Fuller, Adam Fuller, Benjamin Fuller, Daniel Fuller, Michael Fuller; and 28 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Raymond Walde and wife Clara, Ruby Jahn and husband Paul, Wilma Walde, Leonard Walde and wife Shirley, Lillian and husband Arden Fastenau, Gladys and husband Phil Hagny, Marilyn and husband Max Yoakum, and Marlene Brudenell. Edward is predeceased by his daughter, Linda Walde; brothers Virgil and Walter Walde; sisters, LaDonna Walde and Helen Heinze.
