ANLIAN -- EDWARD Passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He was born April 12, 1924, in Union City, N.J., to Jeremiah and Anna Anlian. He is survived by his wife, Gwen of Santa Fe, N.M., daughter Robin (John Slevin) of Helena, Mont., son Edward (Paula Dal Santo) of Albuquerque, N.M., son-in-law Wayne Ward of Santa Fe, son-in-law Richard Horton of Albuquerque, and 10 grandchildren: Noelle, Nicholas, Brooke, Arden, Kendall, Quentin, Amanda, Kristan, Miles and Savannah. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, his older brothers, Ara and Haig, and daughters Jill Anlian-Ward and Holly Anlian. Ed graduated from Emerson High School in New Jersey in 1940. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics, chemistry and education in 1950 from Albright College in Reading, Pa., where he was a distinguished graduate. In addition, Ed attended the University of Wichita in Kansas. He received his master's degree in mathematics in 1959 from the University of Iowa and did doctorate work in mathematics from 1964-1966 at Syracuse University in New York. Ed enlisted in the Air Force in 1943 as a flying cadet and attained the aeronautical rating of master navigator. He flew B29s and B47s. Ed served in three wars: World War II, Korean War (he flew 33 missions) and the Viet Nam war. He also taught at the Air Force Academy from 1959-1964, where he tutored many cadets and authored several math study guides. Ed served his country in many positions in the Air Force including Deputy Chief of Staff, Data System at SAC headquarters, Offutt AFB, Nebraska. He retired from the Air Force in December 1978 at the rank of Colonel. His earned medals include the Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Ed's love of teaching began at Robesonia High School in Pennsylvania where he taught math, chemistry and physics. After retiring from the Air Force, he taught mathematics and computer science for 15 years at Santa Fe Community College. He also worked for the State of New Mexico from 1979 to 1983. While in college, Ed lettered in cross country, track and basketball all four years. He is a member of Albright College's Athletic Hall of Fame and was named to the All Century Team for basketball. He was the leading scorer all four years with a total of 1,601 points and is the seventh all-time leading scorer at Albright. He was an avid runner and squash player until he was 78 years old and was a member of the New Mexico Squash Association and El Gancho Tennis Club in Santa Fe. He married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Bachman in 1949 in Reading. They had four children, Robin, Jill and twins, Edward and Holly. He was a loving husband and father and was particularly fond and proud of his 10 grandchildren. BAXTER -- SAMUEL HOUSTON A native of New Mexico, took his final skyward journey on October 12, 2011. Sam was a veteran balloon pilot, instructor, mentor, and the founder of "The Adams Family" balloonists. Sam was a man of vision, deep and thoughtful giving and absolutely passionate about all that he loved! His work at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta as Field Manager spanned 14 years. Balloon Fiesta was a passion that he shared with his field crew, the volunteers and the AIBF employees who create this spectacular event each year. He was the recipient of the AAAA Sid Cutter Award and was inducted into the AIBF Hall of Fame. He was truly the epitome of a "life well lived" and was known as "quite the Guy"! He knew no bounds and the legacy he leaves is strong and inclusively magnanimous. Sam is survived by his loving wife Shannon; daughters Caitlan and Samantha; sisters Robbin Busick and Marj Baxter of Albuquerque; Anita Moya and husband Cass and brother Bob Baxter of Caballo, NM; his "chosen sister" Janie Jordan; many loving nieces and nephews as well as supportive friends. CHAVES -- MARY ROSE Age 86, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. She was born September 26, 1925 to Jose and Remedios Gomes, in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Chaves was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church. Caring for her family, friends, church and community was her life's mission. She will be greatly missed by so many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony N. CHAVEZ -- LONNIE V. Age 45, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home, Thursday, October 13, 2011. He was born on February 26, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA. and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. Lonnie will be fondly remembered as an avid hunter, fisher, and Cowboys fan, who enjoyed all sports. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Chavez; grandmother, Felipita Lucero. Lonnie is survived by children, Vanessa Saenz and husband Jose, Adrian Archibeque and wife Alicia, and Victor Chavez and Iris Archibeque; his grandchildren, Jeryus Saenz, Audrina Archibeque, and Baby Saenz. Also surviving are his loving mother, Mary Duran; his brothers, Raymond "Dino", Phillip "Errol" and wife Pamela, and Ronnie Chavez and wife Debbie; his sister, Elizabeth Duran; and numerous loving nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. COOK -- STANLEY EARL Age 73, of Great Falls, a retired USDA Soil Conservation Service engineer, died of cancer October 13, 2011 at his home, the One Horse Ranch, in Great Falls, Montana. The family will hold private services for scattering his ashes at his One Horse Ranch in Great Falls and at Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home of Great Falls is handling arrangements. A devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Cook, of Great Falls; his three sons, Gerry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeffrey of Cross Roads, Texas, and Eric of Great Falls, Montana; a sister, Maxine Dykman of Harrison, Montana; brothers Alfred of Helena, Montana, Doug of Butte, Montana, and Keith, Florida; and two grandchildren, Aidan and Zachary, of Cross Roads, Texas. Stan graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1963. After graduation, he began working for the USDA Soil Conservation Service. He was promoted to various positions up to State Conservation Engineer in New Mexico. He retired in 1995. Stan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed shooting skeet. Stan collected early Ford V-8 automobiles. He restored numerous cars and enjoyed showing his work at car shows and cruise-in's with his family and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his first wife, La Verne who passed away in 2004; sisters Hazel, Helen, Alice and Beryl; and brothers George and Chuck. FLOWERS -- MICHAEL WADE "MIKE" Age 40, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Lesyle K. Flowers of Peralta; son, Steven Ramon Flowers; daughter, Amber Marie Flowers; sisters, Michelle Strickland and husband, Wayland of Peralta, Janice Lusk and husband, George of Albuquerque and Carla Corrales and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; brothers, Robert W. Flowers and wife, Dolly of Albuquerque, Ricky E. Flowers and, wife Lisa of Peralta; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike graduated from Cibola High School in 1989. He showed Arabian horses and was associated with the A.H.A.N.M. He owned and operated Cyberwolf Computers in Peralta. He also worked for Flowers Construction Inc. He was currently employed by Bernalillo County as a Maintenance Tech II. MIRABAL -- ERNEST EUGENE "BO" CLOUD EAGLE IN MEMORY OF Born: Feb. 29, 1960 "Leap Year Baby" Passed: Oct. 13, 2011 Of Nambe Pueblo passed away on October 13, 2011. He was 51 years old and was a leap year child with his birthday being the special day of Feb 29, 1960, and being born a leap year baby, Bo was actually 12 years old. Something that always made him laugh). Bo, a life time member of Nambe Pueblo, was dedicated to his people and his beliefs; by being a spiritual leader he was very involved in his traditions. He attended Pojoaque High School and graduated from Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Bo received his Associate degree in Fine Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, NM. Bo was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Montoya-Mirabal of Ohkay Owingeh (formerly known as San Juan Pueblo). Bo is survived by his father, Ernest Mirabal, Governor of Nambe Pueblo, (wife Constance B. Mirabal, step-children and family); sons, Natanni Mirabal and Llewyn Platero; daughters, Paige and Nakiva; granddaughther, Jaylina Rain Loretto; grandsons, Joshua Ernest and Llewyn Platero Jr; sisters, Doreen Mirabal, Michelle Mirabal, and Anna Mirabal-LeJeune (husband Michael LeJeune); newphews, Wankaa Mirabal, Luke LeJeune and Red Hawk Mirabal; niece, Poekwi Mirabal; and many other relatives. Cloud Eagle (Bo) was a world renowned artist, sculptor, painter, multi-dimensional artist. He had many friends throughout the world, was respected and well-liked by everyone. NORTHCUTT -- KENNETH EUGENE JR. (DA) Age 66, a resident of Elephant Butte, NM, passed away on Tuesday October 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Eugene Northcutt Sr.; his mother, Ida Northcutt; and sisters, Meryl Jean and Wanda Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Georgette; his brother Benjamin and his wife, Bonnie; mothers-in-law Jackie Wilson and Lois Jamison of Moab, Utah; his daughters Kim Garcia, Wanda Arvizu and husband Michael, Laura Ortiz and husband Isaac; son, Woody Morris and wife Lori and son Kenneth Northcutt III; grandchildren Jasmin, Michael, Julio, Valerie, Desiree, Morgan, Miranda, Gabriel Morris and wife Vanessa, Lucy Aragon and husband John, Monique and Dennis Chavez. Also nine great-grandchildren and their best friends Bill and Joann Gunter who treated Kenneth with the utmost dignity and brought him home. We would also like to thank Leslie for always knowing what we needed, also by many other special friends and family. Also by his K-9 companions Judy, Precious and Buddy. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a past Bernalillo County Deputy Sheriff, after retirement he worked with the U.S.Forest Service. In addition Kenneth was a active Mason in Temple Lodge #6, a member of Scottish Rite, a dedicated Shriner, a past Director of ROJ, an Officer and Fellow of the Loyal Order of the Moose 2050 and a member of Moose Legion 134 as well as the American Legion. Kenneth passed peacefully with his wife and family at his bedside. Cancer may have taken his voice, but it could never take his spirit. Cremation has taken place and a Masonic Funeral and Memorial Service will be held at the Shrine Center located at 6600 Zuni SE on October 18th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A special heart felt thank you to Elizabeth Paterson with Hospice of the Sandias for being our rock and always telling us the truth, no matter how hard that truth was. PADILLA -- MARIA C. (CISSY) Born Aug 20, 1948 who was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Sunday October 9, 2011. Our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend has found peace and has been received into the arms of her Creator, angels, and her family in Heaven. Although she will be deeply missed, we know she is no longer in pain. Cissy was preceded in death by her father Onesimo Martinez. PRUITT -- ANNETTE CLINTON Beloved wife of R.L. (Bob) Pruitt, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011 one day after her 75th birthday. She was born in Albuquerque's Presbyterian Hospital to John DeWitt Clinton and Clara Grace (Bristow) Clinton. Annette was a junior at Highland High School when she married Bob in 1953. It was a love story that lasted 58 years. WEBER -- HENRIETTA Age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was born on May 10, 1918 in Tuckahoe, NY, the middle child of Clarence Wycoff and Hazel Seaman Kouwenhoven and was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Savage and Ruth Swett. Henrietta and her first husband, John C. Kiefer, Jr., raised their family in New Hyde Park on Long Island. After his death, Henrietta married Charles J. Weber and moved to Albuquerque in 1968. She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Ackerson and Jeanne Kiefer; stepchildren, Jack Weber and Mary Howard; step-grandchildren, Kelly and Paul Weber; and several great-grandchildren; special niece, Joyce Swett; cousin, Virginia Furman; and long time friends, Ethel Shepard and Anna DeMaggio. Henrietta was an enthusiastic dancer, golfer, swimmer and bowler, and the life of every party. An 11th generation New Yorker, she lived much of her life not far from the Kouwenhoven 1635 homestead.
