ADAMS -- HAZEL AILEEN CONNER Age 83, went Home to her Lord and loved ones on June 2, 2011, after a sudden illness. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Aileen Moore and her husband, Harold Moore of Albuquerque; her granddaughter, Andrea Aileen Moore; her great-granddaughter, Autumn Aileen Guinn; her great-grandson, Aiden Glen Griego and their father Stephen Griego; stepdaughter Rhonda Vigil and her husband Larry, son Robert Vigil and his son, daughter Jennifer Vigil and husband Brant Wagener and their daughter Chloe; sisters-in-law June McCrary and Gloria McCrary; nieces Ruby Godsey, Diane Ayers and Julia Pomeroy; nephews Gene McCrary and Terry McCrary; her beloved dog Rosie, and many friends she touched with her love, wisdom and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Cleo McCrary; her sisters Faye Russell and Ruby Gibson and baby; brothers Lester McCrary and Eugene McCrary; nieces Gloria Baker and Patti McCrary, and husbands Glen F. ALTOMARE -- JOSEPHINE E. Died Monday, June 6, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaspare (Al) Altomare. Josephine is survived by her four children: daughter, Joan Camana and her husband, Peter of San Diego, CA, grandchildren, Eric and Joseph Stewart and great-grandchildren, Mia Elena and Gianna Josephine Stewart; daughter, Sondra LeGrand and husband, Roger of La Crosse, WI and granddaughters, Julia and Erica LeGrand; son, Ralph Altomare and wife, Debbie of Bellevue, WA and grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, John Taylor and David; and son, Michael Altomare and grandson, Neil. Family was most important to Josephine and she dedicated herself to fiercely supporting and caring for all of those whom she loved dearly. All who knew her were taken in by her humility, selflessness, and loving, caring ways. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, 3:00 p.m., at the family home, 600 Amherst Dr. SE with Roger LeGrand officiating. CASTILLO -- LUCILLE Born November 23, 1920 to Juan Rey and Rebecca (Chavez) Gabaldon in Belen, New Mexico passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011. Lucille was a cheerful, fun, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Lucille worked for Dr. Loren Shields for several years, then was the secretary at St. Mary Elementary School for over twenty years. Following her time at St. Mary's, she became an avid collector of antiques opening and operating her own business at the Classic Century Square on Central near Nob Hill for over 15 years. Over the years, Lucille kept in touch with many of the students from St. Mary's and made many new friends in her antique business and travels. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; son, Christopher and granddaughter, Jennifer. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Sandoval and husband, Deacon George of Albuquerque; Arthur (Larry) Castillo and wife, Sue of Los Lunas; Mary Therese Marquez and husband David of Georgia; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Rugg; grandchildren: Nichole and husband, Chip; Christa; Paul and wife, Ladonna; Geoff and wife Kathleen; Christopher and wife Melissa; and John Adams; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Connor, Andres, Colin and Lorenzo; sister, Julia Silva and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. DAVIS -- RUTH L. On Sunday, June 5, 2011, Ruth L. Davis, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully. Ruth was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Ruth Kathleen Davis. She is survived by her sister, Marian Alice Brecht Frazier; her daughters, Kathryne Laurene Davis and Judy Ann Davis Groves; her granddaughters, Guenevere Ruth Groves McMahon (Charles Bernard McMahon) and Aleta Laurene Groves Robertson (Brian Thomas Robertson); her great-grandchildren, Spenser Alexander Lopez, Dru Kyrie Lopez Herrera (Nicholas Zachary Herrera), Savannah Croix Robertson, Hugo Groves Robertson and Cormac Chapman McMahon; great-great-granddaughter, Aubreana Faith Herrera; and many dear nieces and nephews. Ruth was born in Broken Arrow, OK, the first of six children born of Walter Henry and Bertha Laurene Smalley Brecht. She grew up and was educated in Oklahoma, and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1950 with her husband, Mace Willard Davis. Ruth was a devoted homemaker and mother, while helping to establish Davis the Plumber, Inc., in addition to teaching piano lessons for many years. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide at Jackson Junior High School until retirement. Upon her retirement, she moved to Las Cruces, NM, where she resided until her death. Ruth was active in Extension Club, her church (St. Paul's Methodist), Chilly Dillys, the Retired Educators Association and had an extensive network of friends. In an electronic era, Ruth was an avid letter-writer, whose lovely handwriting never wavered with age. Ruth was the cherished matriarch of our family and she will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives she touched. ERTEL -- BEREDA A long-time resident of Albuquerque, went to be with her Lord on June 6, 2011. Bereda was a loving wife and mother who had a passion for cooking, sewing, and crafts of all types. One of her greatest pleasures in life was sharing one of her handmade gifts of love with someone she cared for and in many cases, those in need. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Bereda is survived by her husband of 33 years, Myron Ertel; son, Joseph Pleaska; daughter, Renee and husband Jerry Pogan; son, James Blanton and wife Susan. She also leaves eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. EZELL -- SANDY O. JR. Was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 27, 1937 to Sandy O. Ezell and Florence L. Wells Ezell. Sandy went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2011. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque and moved to Edgewood in July of 1969. He was employed by Mountain Bell from 1956 till 1993, at which time was US West. Sandy is survived by his wife Marjorie; daughters Kathleen Torres, Cheryl and husband Doug Hodge, four granddaughters, Brittany and husband, Lawrence Bush, Danielle Torres, Trechel Hanes and Andrea Hodge; and three great-grandsons, Damion Moreno, Malachi and Christopher Bush. Sandy is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Jackie Johnson and brother-in-law Charley Andrews; thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. HARRIS -- JAMES ANDREW Was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 27, 1963 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2011 following a tragic vehicle accident. Jim was 48 years old and lived in Thoreau, NM at the time of his death. He lived in Albuquerque until he was 15 years old and then the family moved to Farmington, NM where he graduated from Farmington High School and then attended the University of New Mexico. Jim had many hobbies. He was a fine musician and was an expert banjo picker and played the guitar. He liked cross country skiing and backpacking which included a 70 mile trek in the Weminuche Wilderness Area in Colorado. He was also a very good cook and had a great sense of humor and could always make us laugh. Jim is survived by his parents, Andy and Barbara Harris; his sisters, Sheryl Templeton and husband, Don and Dana Van Doren and husband, Dave; aunt, Shirley Donahue; niece, Erin O Niell; nephews, Bryan O Neill and Brad and Kyle Van Doren; and nine cousins including Wayne Harris and wife, Kathy who also live in Thoreau, NM. Jim had many friends that he loved to play music and backpack with. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel. HAWK -- ROBERT M. Age 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. He was born in Purcell, OK on November 13, 1924 to Lemuel L. Hawk and Grace Belle Pace. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hawk of Albuquerque; brother, Frank Hawk of Mildred, TX; sister-in-law, Sally Bryan; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawk moved to Albuquerque in 1946, and he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.A. He was retired from Sandia National Laboratories and served the community of Albuquerque and the State of New Mexico in many ways. He served for fourteen years as a New Mexico State House Representative; he served six years as a Bernalillo County Commissioner, four years on the Board of New Mexico State Psychiatric Hospital, member of the Board of Bernalillo County Mental Health Center, member of the Board of UNM Hospital, and member of the Advisory Board of Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist, 201 University Blvd. NE, with Reverend James E. Hawk, Jr., Mr. Hawk's nephew, presiding. JINZO -- PABLINO CARMEN (PAUL) Passed away May 30, 2011 in Nice, California at the age of 67. Paul was the oldest of ten children. Preceded in death by his son, Paul Jinzo Jr.; his father, Luciano Jinzo; sisters, Lorraine Garza and Lucinda Lovato. He is survived by three children, Joe, Orvil and Sadie Jinzo; his mother, Manuela Gray; his siblings, Luciano Jinzo, Melba Sanchez, Rachel Yamaguchi, David Montoya, Juliet Saavedra, Pat Perdomo and Pamela Marquez. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren amd several cousins, aunts, uncles. Paul was born and lived in Albuquerque for several years. He lived in Nice, California for the past two years.

LARSEN -- BRUCE ALAN Passed away June 2, 2011 after battling cancer. He was born November 14, 1949, in Fargo, ND. He moved with his family to Albuquerque as a child. Bruce attended Sandia High School (class of '67) and University of New Mexico. He graduated from UNM School of Law in 1974. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Larsen. He is survived by his mother, Harriett M. Larsen; his sisters, Jo Cito and Susan Larsen; nephews, Michael Cito (Allison), Marc Cito (Alana), Joseph Cito, L. Ian Larsen; and his beloved dog, Cybil. Most of his career he practiced law in Hobbs, NM. Bruce enjoyed hiking, fishing, and was an avid reader, particularly of history. He always enjoyed his dogs. LOVATO -- ESTHER Mom, You Lived Your Life As, "Simply the Best" August 2nd, 1920 to June 4th, 2011 Our mother, Esther Lovato, went to sleep Saturday, June 4th, 2011. She was born in Albuquerque, NM to the union of our late Bishop Otho Pettiford and Odell (Greer) Pettiford, founding Bishop and First Lady of the Mountain States Council, 15th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, under the late Prelate Bishop Grimes. Mom was baptized in the precious name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age. Mom attended Old Armijo Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1939 and in mom's later years, attended the University of New Mexico. Early employment begin for mom at the Kimo Theater, Santa Fe Railroad, Hubbards, and she retired as a cook from the Albuquerque Public School system. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; five of her sisters: Odell, Iva, Grace, Mary and Alpha; two brothers: Bevo and Jolund; two sons: Arthur and Diego; and one granddaughter Chy'vonne "Bonnie" Cowan. She leaves to cherish her memories to her husband Augustine "Papa" (Albuquerque, NM); three daughters Grace Jean Bailey (Colorado Springs, CO); Gail Fredia (Chandler, AZ); Nita R. PEREZ -- ERNEST E. Age 87, passed away at his ranch in Encino on June 6, 2011. Ernest was born April 1, 1924 in Encino, NM to the home of Victor and Angelita (Tenorio) Perez. He was reared and attended schools in Encino. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a Surgical Technician from 1942 through 1946. While in the Army he received the American Theater, European, African and Middle Eastern Medals as well as the Good Conduct and Victory and Sharp Shooter Medals. Ernest married Jewel Spencer in March of 1946. Ernest and his family have been longtime sheep and cattle ranchers in Encino for many years raising Registered Herefords and Rambouillete Sheep. He loved showing his sheep and wool in fairs and spent many years traveling the United States winning many awards including the Top Wool Clips and Sheepman of the year in 1984. He was the only American to win the World Fleece Wool Competition in Tasmania, Australia. He was a parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Encino, he also served as President of the Encino School District for 35 years, the Torrance County Fair Board for nine years, He was a lifetime member of the Wool Growers Association serving also in Wyoming and Utah, He also served as Mayor of Encino for 13 years and the Torrance County Commission for one term, he was a member of the ASCS of Torrance County, the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and the National Sheep Industry Association. He enjoyed being a referee for basketball games and umpiring baseball games. He was a very strong Republican and enjoyed his politics. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Victor Perez, Jr., Augustine Perez, Andres Perez and Cipriano Perez and an infant sister; Lydia Perez, his special Godson and nephew, Larry Perez as well as his special nephews, Victor Perez III and Victor Leroy Perez. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Encino. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow at the Encino Cemetery. ROBINSON -- DENIS Age 87, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011. He was born February 11, 1924 in West Hartlepool, England and has been a resident of Albuquerque for over 30 years. Denis was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie. He is survived by his son, Denis Wilson Robinson and wife Nancy; daughter, Alexandra Kiska and husband Patrick; sister, Joan Williams; grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson Sharman and husband Jack, Andrew Robinson and Wife Margrethe, Robin Kiska and wife Megan, and Dustin Kiska; great-grandchildren, Arianwen and Katerina Sharman, Odin Robinson and Axel Kiska. Denis served as a British Officer in the Indian Army where he met Natalie Bushanan who was in the American Red Cross. He was actively involved in international and local Rotary Clubs, was a master gardener, and active member of Christ the King Anglican Church. As a food technologist he worked for CPC International, Bueno Foods, El Pinto, 5 Sandoval Co Pueblos, Sandoval Co Extention, and NM State University. Denis also served as a volunteer in numerous organizations including Presbyterian Hospice and NM State Senior Olympics. Services will be held at Christ the King Anglican Church, 5300 2nd St NW, (345-1450), Saturday, June 11, at 10:30 am. SHERWOOD -- LUE ELLEN Age 87, born July 24, 1923, passed away in Albuquerque on June 5, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond G. Sherwood in 1970 and James L. Hickson in 2009; son Wyman Sherwood; grandchildren, Edward Starkey and Laura Ellen Starkey; and her three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her loving children: Barbara and husband Jim McDonald of Emory, TX; Bruce Sherwood of Espanola, NM; Linda and husband John Lanoue; Glenda and husband Carley Perry; Martha Raines and Jesse Evans (all of Albuquerque); and Robert Sherwood and wife Pam of Meadow Lake, NM. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Greg Starkey and wife Monica; Jeff Starkey; Stacy and husband Paul Serino; Ashley Perry and Ben Wilson; Shayne Latham and Heather Browning; Sky Corona; Martin Corona; Samantha and husband Kevin Kast; Scott Raines; Joshua Sherwood; Lottie and husband Eli Briggs; Stephanie Sherwood; and Jacob Sherwood; as well as 12 "grape-grandchildren" and one great-great grandson. Lue Ellen retired from the Los Lunas Consolidated Schools, where she was a school cook for many years. She was a true woman of God and is now in His loving arms. Cremation has taken place. SOUMPHOLPHAKDY -- OUDOM On Monday, May 23, 2011, Oudom Soumpholphakdy, beloved husband, father, and soon to be grandfather passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque with family and friends by his side. Oudom was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thitthom and Pheua Soumpholphakdy; sisters, Kheung Kham and Ninthalangsouk; and brother, KhouKham. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kham Soumpholphakdy; sons, Oudalom, Ouradom, Rex Ourasavanh and wife, Michelle, and Rick Ouraphet Soumpholphakdy; and many dear nieces and nephews. Oudom was born in Sakueng, Laos, the seventh of nine children born of Thitthom and Pheua Soumpholphakdy. As a young man Oudom served as a Lieutenant in the Laos army. He immigrated to the United States in 1979 and settled in Albuquerque, NM. At the time of his death he was retired after working 23 years at Intel Corporation. As a past president of the Albuquerque Lao Association, Oudom was a leader in the community and was passionate about helping others. He did all that he could to serve the Laotian community near and far. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching all facets of sports especially football, soccer, and baseball, and when asked who he was rooting for, the answer always was the "winner". He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He also loved to garden and always had something growing whether it be inside or outside. Oudom was the cherished patriarch of our family and he will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. A viewing will be on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at French- Lomas Chapel. THORNTON -- RUBY HANNAH Age 91, was born in Auburn, NE on April 19, 1920 and passed away May 20, 2011. She was the eldest of four children born to Earl Redding and Irene Streit Redding. She taught early Elementary for 35 years in various parts of Nebraska, ending in Omaha. She showed continued love for children through the Linus Blanket Project; having knitted over 200 blankets for the project. She was an avid traveler, and visited all 50 states. She loved animals, especially cats. She was preceded in death by her son John T. Hannah; and sister Mary Frances Farver. She is survived by her brothers E. Lloyd Redding and wife Bonnie, William Redding and wife Edy; brother in-law Oliver (Pete) Farver; her daughter, Mary Lynne Mathews and son in-law Bob; Her grandson, Eric L. Mathews and wife Teresa; granddaughter Susan L. Mathews; great-grandsons, Lucas and Tyler Mathews; Also Miss Kitty, her cat. Services will take place at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Rd. NE at 10:30 a.m., on June 11th, 2011. TRUJILLO -- PATRICK M. Age 19, was born December 23, 1991, and went to be with our Lord on June 5, 2011. Patrick is survived by his beloved mother, Patricia Trujillo and special friend, Frank Tenorio; father, Richard Salazar; brother, Manuel Gardner and special friend, Ashley Sanchez; sisters, Angelique and Monique Trujillo; nephew, Manuel Jr.; niece, Sarae Gardner; grandmother, Lucy Trujillo; aunt, Isabel Martinez and husband, Jose; uncle, Ted Trujillo; cousins, Sonya and Serina Martinez and Arriana Maldonado; very special "Tia/Nana" Aurelia Livingston; and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Teddy Norton Trujillo and many other family members. Patrick will always be remembered for his generosity and compassion for people in need and for his respect toward his elders. Patrick played Little League baseball and USSA and had the opportunity to play in his first world series when he was nine years old in Las Vegas, NV and his second when he was 12 years old in Steamboat Springs, CO. A very special thanks to coach Gilbert Lopez for his encouragement and mentorship. He was truly an inspiration to Patrick. Patrick attended West Mesa High School and had plans to attend CNM. Patrick will be missed by many.
