HILL -- Howard Hill, 80, went to be with his Redeemer, Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2010, while in the presence of his loving family at his side. Howard was born in St. Paul, Minnesota where he worked as a welder and resided until moving his family to New Mexico in 1972. After returning to college at the age of 43 and receiving his degree in Vocational Education, he taught Vocational Welding at Farmington High School for 21 years, where his students won many annual competitions. He retired from teaching in 1996 and moved to Albuquerque to be closer to where most of his children and grandchildren were living. He and his wife of 58 years remained there until his death. Howard was a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He was known mostly for his compassion for others and his passion to serve in whatever capacity he was needed. His outward charm broke the barriers of youth through seniors alike. It was not unlike Howard to be seen in one moment mentoring and encouraging children, and the next giving a helping hand to the elderly. His own children remember him as never missing any of their events, or sporting activities, even if that meant a long drive just to be a spectator. Howard is survived by his wife Bonnie; and his four children: Leon and his wife Cheryl and their two children, Jeffrey and Abigail, Richard and his wife Cher and their two children, Courtney and Emma and Courtney's son Orion, George and his wife Sheri and their two children Tyler and Joshua, and Claudia Steinhauser and her husband John; He also has one surviving sister Florence Anderson; as well as many relatives and friends. Interment will be Wednesday, September 22, at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Those who wish to leave condolences can do so at: www.DanielsFuneral.com.
