MONTOYA -- Sinforosa Ruiz Montoya passed away on Sept 14,2010. She was born Aug 5,1914 in Torreon, NM and was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Marcario Montoya. She is survived by her children, Prospero Montoya, Gilbert Montoya, Henry Montoya and wife Louise, Lourdes Garcia and husband Willie, Pauline Garcia, Rita Eberting and husband Darrell; and Mike Martinez Jr., who she raised, and wife, Pat. Sinforosa left a legacy of 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 4:00 p.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and Catholic burial on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the same location. Pallbearers: Ray Montoya, Donald Montoya, Dominick Montoya,Willie Garcia Jr, Dennis Garcia, Daniel Dean; and Honorary pallbearer David Eberting.

PADILLA -- Floyd Alfonso Padilla, Jr. also known as "Aly", passed away suddenly on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at a Phoenix, Arizona hospital. Aly was born at Guadalupe General Hospital in Santa Rosa, NM in the summer of 1962. Aly was passionate about cooking and baking and he was currently working as a Food Service Manager at the Guadalupe County Correctional Facility (GCCF), GEO Group. He had previously attended schools in Albuquerque, NM. He had faith in God and loved his family. Aly was an avid golfer, and skier, he loved playing pool and watching and playing sports. Aly especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. Aly was a devoted husband to his wife Melissa, son Fransisco and daughter Carlirose. Aly was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and brother-in-law Craig Cave. Along with his wife and children, Aly leaves behind his parents Floyd, Sr. and Helen Padilla; mother-in-law Anna Baca; siblings, and in-laws, Shirley and Jonathan Prince, Catherine Cave-Evans and Steve Griego, Diana and Frank Lueras, Evangeline and Robert Delgado, Carol and Alfredo Gonzales, and Patrick and Paula Padilla. He leaves his loyal and loving nieces and nephews Geno Higgins, Dominic Cave, Ivan Cave, Kassaundra Evans, Sabrina Flores, Katrina Collins, David Lueras, Crystal Delgado, Pearl Delgado, Omar Gonzales, Toby Padilla, and Tory Padilla. Viewing of the Aly will take place at Chavez Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The recital rosary services will take place on Monday evening, September 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The funeral mass will take place Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Santa Rosa, NM. The interment will occur immediately following the mass. Pall bearers will be his brothers-in-law Jonathan Prince, Alfredo Gonzales, Robert Delgado, and Frank Lueras; his friends Cory Evans, Marty Garcia; his Supervisor at GEO Group Sergio Gallegos; and friend and co-worker Johnny Montoya. Color Guard is being presented by GCCF, GEO Group. Honorary pall bearers are all his nieces and nephews. Rosary and funeral arrangements are being made by Chavez Funeral Home, P.O. RODRIGUEZ -- Benny Rodriguez, 54, passed away Wednesday,September 15, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his daughters, April and Victoria Rodriguez; and seven grandchildren; mother, Laura Rodriguez; sisters, Gloria Apodoca, and husband Simon, Roseann Lerma, and husband Mark, and Veronica Rodriguez; brothers, Richard Rodriguez and wife Isabel, Joe Rodriguez and wife Liz and Lawrence Rodriguez; sister-in-law Consuelo Roa, and husband Fernando; He had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, Ermino Rodriguez; and brothers, Arthur and Edward Rodriguez. Honorary Urn Bearers, Benny Chavez, Joe "Bear" Chavez, Joey Contreras and Mario Rodriguez. Services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Church of the Ascension 2150 Raymac Rd. SW. SALAZAR -- Dorothy T. Salazar, 92, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010. She is survived by her grandchildren, Darren Sanchez, and Janine Salmon and husband, Louie; great-granddaughter, Kelsi Gonzales; sisters, Prudy Crollett, Betty Phillips, Sadie Greenleaf, Gloria Smith and husband, Buford and Veronica Griego and husband, Alex; brother, Ronald Sandoval and wife, Mary Ann; and many other family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; daughter, Diane; and her parents Tito and Lita Sandoval. Mrs. Salazar was a dedicated beautician for 75 years, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and she will be dearly missed. She was a longtime faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Friends may visit Sunday, September, 19, 2010, 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. SHERRY -- Andrew Sherry, 95, of Rio Rancho passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, after a long life and a short illness. Andy was born on February 16, 1915 to parents, John and Mary Sherry of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Andy served honorably, for his country during WW II as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and participated in combat in the North African Campaign, Sicily, Italy, Rhineland, Ardennes, Belgium, and the Battle of the Bulge where he experienced severe frost bite. Upon returning to the States, and discharge from the service, he was employed by US Steel at their Duquesne works plant as a stove tender in the blast furnace. In 1952, he and his wife, Georgia and son, Don moved across the state to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania where he began work at the new plant built by US Steel in Morrisville until he retired in 1977. Seeking a warmer, healthier climate Andy and Georgia, with Don's help, moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Andy's beloved wife, Georgia preceded him in death in 1991. Andy was a member and past exalted ruler of Rio Rancho Elks Lodge, #2500. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. Andy is survived by his son, Don, of Rio Rancho; sister, Mary Wolf of North Versailles, Pennsylvania; stepdaughters, Margaret Butler of Talcott, West Virginia and Barbara Brooks of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Andy will be remembered for his easy going, affable good nature and his generosity. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in Andy's memory may do so to the Presbyterian Hospice Foundation. SOLTYS -- Frank J. Soltys, 75, of SaddleBrooke, AZ passed away September 4, 2010 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty"; brother John; Aunt Virginia Kaczor; nieces, Christine Soltys and Joann Hatter; and several other nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Newark, NJ on December 9, 1934. He graduated from Newark College of Engineering and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Following graduation, Frank was employed by Babcock and Wilcox as a start-up engineer on power plants, traveling throughout the country. While working in Albuquerque, he liked the area so much, he decided to stay. Frank was employed by Bridgers and Paxton Consulting Engineers, Inc., for 25 years. Frank and another engineer formed a partnership in a mechanical engineering firm. In 1994 they expanded to include electrical engineering. Frank retired in 1996 and moved to Arizona, settling in the community of SaddleBrooke. He was a member of several engineering societies and a Registered Engineer in several states. Frank and Betty visited family and friends in Albuquerque frequently. He enjoyed golf, traveling and reading. Services will be held in October. We know God is holding you in the palm of His hand, as lovingly as we hold in our hearts.
