FRESQUEZ HERNANDEZ -- Pauline Ruth Fresquez Hernandez born March 2, 1928 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 10th, 2010. Pauline is survived by her companion, Joe Trujillo; her daughters, Charlene Hernandez, Maggie Ochoa and husband, Efren, Theresa Samaniego and husband, Manuel, and Martha Hernandez; her sons, Art Hernandez and wife, Rita, James Hernandez and wife, Theresa; her grandson whom she raised, Ernie Garcia; special granddaughters, Ruby Garcia and Tina Romero; her five sisters who reside in California; nephew, Richard Fresquez; and sister-in-law, Helen Aragon. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hernandez; her sons, Paul and Melvin Hernandez; her mother, Ester Dominguez; mother-in- law, Miquela Hernandez; and grandson, Steven Garcia. Pauline's legacy continues for five generations through grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She loved to sew, plant flowers, and her kitty Buggie. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Helen Aragon and Ida Mae Grant. Final visitation will be Friday, May 14, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hernandez, Isidro Hernandez, Manuel Leyba, Ernest Garcia, Victor Hoak, and Aaron Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Garcia, Rod Garcia, Rick Vigil, Joey Fresquez, Tony Chavez, Phil Hernandez, and Joseph Quinones. HETSCHEL -- Al Hetschel, resident of Albuquerque since 1958 (with a few exceptions thanks to Uncle Sam) died May 12, 2010. Al was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on March 7, 1928 to Albert E. and Wilma Hetschel. He went on to be an Eagle Scout with two Palms. Al joined the United States Air Force in 1946. In 1952, while stationed in New York, he met Sara Thomas. Al needed special permission to date Sara as she was a 1st Lt. in the Air Force Nurse Corp. They married in 1953. They welcomed Jeff into their family in 1958. Al was then stationed in Alaska and then Sacramento, California. Al retired from the Air Force in 1967 and took up full time residence in the NE Heights. Al would later say he loved every day in the Air Force. He worked for the US Postal Service from 1973 to 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a proud member the Loco Patrol of the Shrine. After Sara's passing on November 12, 2004, he lived at the Woodmark in Uptown Albuquerque where he made many friends including one Ms. Virgie Pace whom brought much joy into Al's life. Al's best friend was Mr. Maurice Bryd who he had lunch with at a Furrs restaurant weekly for nearly 31 years. Chaplain Jeff Hetschel will conduct services at Woodmark Assistant Living, 7201 Prospect Pl. NE on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Al is survived by the Hetschel family of California: Jeff, Debbie, (Mission Viejo) Dan (Portland), Nicole (a nurse in Los Angeles, like her Grandma) and Alyssa (sophomore at Azusa Pacific University). Instead of flowers, Al requests donations made to Shriners Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice. Interment under the blue New Mexican sky at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. JONES -- Richard H. Jones went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 3, 2010. He was surrounded by loved ones at his passing. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Henry B. Jones. He is survived by his other, Charlotte B. Jones; three brothers, Allan L. Jones of Hayward, CA., Robert B. Jones and Bruce G. Jones both of Albuquerque; and one sister, Carol J. Palmer, also of Albuquerque. Richard left behind one daughter, Tracy Velasquez; two step-children, Kevin Bruno of Albuquerque and Lisa Romero of Phoenix, AZ. Richard had seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three nephews, and one niece. Richard was a native of New Mexico and had owned a custom cabinet shop here. He had numerous friends, both in NM and AZ. A private memorial will be held on May 15, 2010 at the home of Richard's sister. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to New Mexico Hospice in Richard's name or any charity of your choice.

KOLMAN -- Steven Neil Kolman We are thankful to have had Steve Kolman with us from November 24, 1956 to May 3, 2010. He always had a bright smile with great dimples and a twinkle in his eye and we loved him dearly. He was an Air Force brat, a biker and a computer geek and had a MA Degree in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies from UNM where he earned a 3.5 GPA. He graduated from the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona FL., the School of Ministry, the Servant Shepard School and was licensed to minister the Gosple. He was a visiting pastor for churches in the Valdosta GA area and his fervent prayer was that others know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America and a fan of motor car racing. He hung his hat in many places but called Albq. home for most of his life and worked for the US Forest Service in Computer Technical Support as an Informational Technology Specialist. He is survived by his mother Geraldine (Jeri) Kolman; brother Sam Kolman; sister Shelley Smith and husband Patrick Smith; nieces, Emily Smith, and Ellen Smith; and nephew Neil Smith. His father C. Neil Kolman preceded him in death. His nickname was Tigger because he was truly the only one. In lieu of flowers we request donations be sent to the Wycliffe Bible translators at Wycliffe.org in his name. Memorial services will be held at Northdale Baptist Church at 123 Osuna Road NW on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following.

LANIER -- Helen Peters Lanier, 98, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at her home. She was born, February 26, 1912 in Texarkana, Texas the daughter of William and Gertrude Nash Peters. She received her Bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan College in Ft. Worth, Texas. Helen married Henry Spurgeon Lanier, June 5, 1938 in Texarkana, Texas. Helen taught second grade in Texarkana and after moving to New Mexico, she taught on Isleta Pueblo. She retired from teaching when her daughter was born. Survivors include her husband, Spurgeon of Albuquerque; one daughter, Barbara Jean Lanier of Albuquerque; and two nephews, Eddie (Pat) Peters, Texarkana, Texas and Lynn (Lee) Peters of Kingsville, TX. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Peters. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 15, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. LOHMANN -- Doris Ellen Lohmann age 92, died on Saturday, May 8th 2010. Doris was born on April 22, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, William Lohmann. MACEACHEN -- Michael A. MacEachen passed away May 8, 2010, at 82 in Largo, Florida. Mike was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada on February 6, 1928 to Michael Patrick and Corinne MacEachen (Deceased). Michael served in the United States Air Force for twenty-seven years and was honorably discharged holding the rank of Chief Warrant Officer with many honors and commendations. He proudly served all over the world with stops in Germany, Turkey, Greece, Holland and Vietnam. Mike loved the water, playing golf, bowling, and fishing. Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus and truly enjoyed any social situation and being with family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife, Ginny; past wife and mother of his children, Shirley; sons, Michael Jr. and his wife Linda, Daniel and his wife Monica, Timothy and his wife Susan; and nine grandchildren. Funeral arrangements in Florida, where he will be interred with full military honors, are pending.

MCCLAIN -- Pamela S. McClain, 63, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Mrs. McClain was born on October 7, 1946 to Robert W. and Dorothy L. (Allen) Green of Des Moines, IA. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral and its choir. In her twenties, Mrs. McClain was a member of the USO. She was a financial advisor for Ameriprise and in her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking and volunteering for many organizations. Mrs. McClain is survived by her husband of 23 years, Harris R. McClain, of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Jennifer M. Gray of McAllen, TX; a son, Matthew R. Gray, and his wife Judith, of Buda, TX; a grandson, Zane, also of Buda, TX; and a brother, William Green, of Des Moines, IA. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 318 Silver Ave SW.
