BAREUTHER -- Esther Bareuther, 95, mother of Doris Hartenberger, passed away on November 25, 2010, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born January 16, 1915, in Harrison, Nebraska, the only daughter of five children. Her family came to California when she was a young girl, settling in Whittier, CA. After a few years in Southern California, Esther's father felt the boys needed to know hard work, so the family bought a prune orchard in Red Bluff, CA. A graduate of San Jose State University, she taught High School Home Economics. Shortly after she began teaching, she met and married the love of her life, Harley Bareuther. After their retirement, they built a home in Northern California, where she spent many hours volunteering at the local food bank, Friends for Hospice and her church. At the time of Harley's passing in 2000, they had celebrated 62 years of marriage. Esther relocated to Albuquerque in 2008, to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her children, Doris Hartenberger and husband, Paul, and her son, Robert Bareuther and wife Jan, of Folsom, CA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; She is also survived by one brother, Keith Bunting, of Sheridan, WY. A celebration of her life will be held, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Las Colinas Retirement Village, 500 Paisano NE, Albuquerque, NM. CARRILLO -- Paul James "Jimmy" Carrillo, age 55, beloved brother, uncle, and friend completed his journey on earth and entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 4, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fructuoso and Barbarita Carrillo; and his beloved grandfather, Faustin Gonzales. DICKENSON -- BILL S. DICKENSON, 68, passed away at home in Angel Fire on December 1, 2010. In his courageous battle with prostate cancer, he was cared for by his loving wife, Mary Alice. Bill was born in Lubbock, Texas where he attended Texas Tech University. He lived in Albuquerque, Los Lunas, and Silver City before moving to Angel Fire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Mae and Walter S. Dickenson; his second wife Kelly; and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Merritt. He is survived by his wife Mary Alice Dickenson; and his two sons, William Dickenson of Los Lunas and Dalton Dickenson of Colorado Springs, CO. He worked in the hydraulics, drilling, metal fabrication and mining equipment businesses. He was an avid reader of history and loved to travel in the western United States. He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, cars, ATVs, trucks, dogs and mules. He had a great sense of humor, and he loved his friends wholeheartedly. Surviving cancer is a difficult challenge, and his path was eased by Dr. Peter Lindberg of Los Alamos, Dr. Larry Schreiber of Taos, Ralph Valle of Prostate Community Action in Arizona (www.pcainaz.org), Joel Nowak, Director of Advocacy & Advanced Prostate Cancer Programs, Malecare, Inc. in New York, and, in Bill's last days, Pat Heinen of Mountain Home Health Hospice. His friends all stood by him with devotion and were always willing to lend a hand. There will be a gathering of friends at his home in January but no formal services. DILLER -- Debra Lee Diller, 56, beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter, went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 2, 2010 following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Deb was born December 27, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA, attended college at Appalachian State in North Carolina and came to Albuquerque in 1975 to begin her teaching career with APS. Her long and successful career included teaching special education at Truman and Taylor Middle Schools and Mitchell Elementary School. She touched the lives of many during her 34-year teaching career. Deb is survived by her loving family, husband of 30 years, Rich; daughters, Ashley and Kimberly of Las Vegas, NV; son, Ryan of Tucson, AZ; sister, Jeannie DeCanditis (Mike) of Ruidoso, NM and mother, Helen Boast (Roy) of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Gundel. Deb lived life to the fullest and greatly enjoyed teaching, singing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was truly an angel on earth, always putting everyone before herself. Deb was a friend to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by countless people. ESQUIBEL -- Eloisa Esquibel was born in Rio Lucio, NM on 10/7/1924 to Apolinar and Macedonia Rodriguez; she died peacefully at home on 12/4/2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Gregorio; and grandson Andrew. Surviving children include Susie Trujillo (Joe S.), Sadie Hawkins (Tom), Michael Esquibel (Estella), Juan Esquibel (Evelyn), and Priscilla Sais (Valentin); She is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; Her immediate family also included Derek, Kathleen, Sarah, and Shana Maes. Oralia was born in Questa, NM on October 28, 1928 to Fermin and Ursulita Herrera and married Michael Gaillour on July 22, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gaillour; parents, Fermin and Ursulita Herrera; and sister, Mabel Trujillo, all of Questa, NM. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Vigil (Chris) of Santa Fe, NM; daughter, Mavis Gaillour Miller (Douglas) of Coppell, TX; daughter, Christine Martinez (Walter) of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Linda Myers (Pat) of Atlanta, GA; son, Michael E. Gaillour (Cindy) of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Melissa Owen (James) of Santa Fe, NM; grandsons, Christopher M. HAMPY -- Zelma I. Hampy, 84, of Monte Vista, Colorado, passed away on December 3, 2010 at her home in Westminster, Colorado. She was born on July 20, 1927 to Henry A. Muller and Martha Monter in Monte Vista. She worked as an accountant for many years and was a very active member of LWML and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Auxiliary. Zelma was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Hampy, whom she married in Monte Vista. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn D. Waldman; and her grandson, Marcus R. Waldman. HUDSON -- Elisabeth (Betty) Hildegarde Canoyer Hudson, 64, passed away Nov. 21 at her home in Isleton, CA. Betty was born in Albuquerque, attended UNM where she was a Chi Omega and a Mortar Board and was graduated from Cal Poly. She had lived and worked in CA for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Jim Pratt of Isleton; her daughter, Carlene Tudor; her son, Reed Tudor; her sister, Madge Bender; her brother, Mike Canoyer; her niece, Lori Bender; her nephew, Scott Bender, and three grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on December 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Mt Calvary Cemetery and burial to follow.

MACCURDY -- Raymond R. (Tim) MacCurdy, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, went to be with God on, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Grant MacCurdy, of Albuquerque, NM, his children, Ruth Cohen of Ft. Lee, NJ, and James MacCurdy of Los Angeles, CA; Douglas MacCurdy of Albuquerque, his wife, Anne Rutherford MacCurdy, and their daughter, Catherine; and sister, Charlotte Finlay of Santa Rosa, CA. Mr. MacCurdy was Professor Emeritus of Spanish at UNM, Chairman of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at UNM from 1964 to 1969. He was Vice President of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese from 1959 to 1961, President of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association in 1958. Tim was also a member of Hispanic Society of America and Renaissance Society of America, Former Trustee of Hispanic Culture Foundation, author or editor of fifteen books on Spanish Literature and Language, an award willing Historical Novel (Caesar of Santa Fe) and short stories. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946, was an intelligence officer in China-Burma-India Theater and was a member of The Disabled American Veterans and Kirtland Officers Club. MONTOYA -- Leonor Gallegos Montoya, 90, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Born to Petrita and Juan Gallegos, August 28, 1920, in Albuquerque, she is survived by her loving husband and lifelong partner of 66 years, Jose "Joe" Montoya, her daughters, Gloria O'Dowd and husband Ron, and Marie Baldonado and husband Jim. Also her four grandchildren, Darren O'Dowd, Tara O'Dowd, Yvonne Stubbs, Amanda Cimino and husband Jason, and three great grandchildren Aaron, Samuel and Hailey. She is also survived by her sisters in law, Amalia Gallegos and Victoria Chavez and many other family and friends. Leonor was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son "Joseph"; her sister, Virginia Garcia; and her brothers, Ismael Gallegos and Ernesto Gallegos. Raised in Torreon, NM where she met and married Joe in 1944 and also worked as the Post Mistress for the Torreon Post Office. They moved to Albuquerque in 1950 where she spent the rest of her long and fulfilling life. Leonor was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. Her strong devotion to the Lord was reflected in her everyday living. One of Leonor's favorite traditions was to visit "El Santuario de Chimayo" as often as she could. She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at French Mortuary, Lomas location with Mass being celebrated 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee. ROWE -- Myrtle Florence Rowe died in Ukiah on Thursday, December 2, 2010. Age 82, she was a resident of the Ukiah area for nine years, previously having lived in New Mexico where she was born. Myrtle was a homemaker and was proud of being a dedicated wife and mother, raising three children. She was a collector, raised race horses, enjoyed gardening and jewelry collecting. She will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and children and her love of flowers and collecting. She is survived by her daughter Linda Kathleen Jennings; sons, Steven Clarence Rowe, David Mondell Rowe; sisters, Pauline and Louise; brothers, Ivan, Joe, Malcom, Clarence; grandchildren Jeremiah, Jessica, Helen, Johnathan, Michael; and great-grandson Ethan. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Clarence Mondell Rowe; and her parents, Ivan Sr. and Myrtle May Cannon. Inurnment will be on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11 am at the Ukiah Cemetery. THOEMKE -- Michael Sebastion Thoemke, age 17, beloved son, brother and grandson, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord, Saturday, December 4, 2010. Michael was a life long resident of NM. WILLIAMS -- Dr. Malcolm Hays Williams, 77, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away Sunday December 5, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Dr. Williams was born February 1, 1933 in Asansol, India to Methodist missionaries, Frederick G. and Irene Williams. Malcolm grew up in Colonial India and attended English schools there. He returned to the U.S. in 1943. He lived in Hazard, KY and Sacatone, NM before settling in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of Wales his Junior Year in College. He graduated from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Williams graduated from Emory University Medical School, and served his Internship in the New Jersey Hospital System. His residency in Internal Medicine was at Emory Hospital. He served as a flight surgeon in the U. S. Air Force. Following his residency, Dr. Williams practiced internal medicine in Smyrna, Georgia, first at Kennestone and Windy Hill Hospitals and later at the hospital now known as Emory-Adventist Hospital. He retired from his medical practice in 1996. Dr. Williams and his wife moved to Dawsonville as lake residents in 1996 and, following retirement, moved to the community full time in 1998. He continued his medical work avocationally working for St. Joseph's Hospital's Mercy Clinic where he served the indigent population of Atlanta. Later, he volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels at the Dawson County Senior Center. He and Anna taught English as a second language, he served as a volunteer to advocate for abused children through the Hall Dawson CASA Program and also served as a captain in the opening of the Grace Cafe at Grace Presbyterian Church where he was a member. Surviving are his wife, Anna B. Williams, Dawsonville; children, Wendy and John McGrew, Atlanta, Sandra and David Givelber, Atlanta, Laurie and Dan Nickless, Atlanta, Dr. Jeffrey and Georgia Williams, Athens, Debra and Tom Mills, Cumming, Lisa and Darrell Dodge, St. Petersburg, Kristin B. Young, Atlanta; grandchildren, Lilly Givelber, Dakota, Sydney, James and Jake Williams, Scott and Clark Mills, Lindsay, Amanda and Michael Dodge, CarolAnn DuVall, Nicholas and Robert Young. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 11:00 at Grace Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dana Hughes will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of donations to the Dawson County Senior Center, the Grace Presbyterian Church or Hall Dawson CASA.
