BARKS -- Margret Jean Davison Clem Barks, Bernalillo resident, age 89, passed away peacefully at The Montebello on Academy in Albuquerque on Thursday, November 18, 2010. Jean was a kind, creative, generous woman who found great joy in her life, her family and her faith. On May 6, 1921, she was born to Theresa Corrine Hathaway Clem and Harry Israel Clem in Kent Township/ Warren County, Indiana. Jean, her brother James Harvey Clem and her sister Francis Anne Clem Ritenour shared in the benefits and acquired the resourcefulness that came with growing up on a farm during the Depression. After graduating from Covington High School, Jean attended Western Women's College. She then transferred to Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she received her Bachelor's degree. While at Butler she met her future husband, John Patrick Barks, a soldier doing Army Air Corps training on the campus. They married at Jean's parents' farm house in Warren County in 1944. Jean worked as a County Agent in Indiana, helping people provide healthy meals and a positive home atmosphere for their families during difficult times. John was deployed to Italy during World War II. Following John's military discharge, the couple moved to Danville, Illinois where they raised their family. While in Danville, Jean was a child-care provider and a kindergarten teacher. She was an active member of Central Christian Church, a foster parent, and a Danville "Mother of the Year." Jean celebrated music, literature and art throughout her life. After retiring, Jean and John moved to Bernalillo, New Mexico. They enjoyed the town and the people who live there. Soon Jean became recognized for marking her birthday each year spreading happiness by visiting local businesses while dressed as a clown (a persona she created to entertain children in Danville). She was as comfortable camping by a lake as she was in the adobe houses she built for her and John and for her daughter Jami. Jean loved people, and through that love she conveyed a celebration of all life. Jean was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, John in 1994; her parents, Theresa and Harry Clem; and her brother, James Clem. In addition to her sister, Anne Ritenour, Jean is survived by three daughters and a son, Jami Hotsinpiller of Bernalillo, Janeen Barks of Bernalillo, Jill Bunting (David) of Bernalillo and John Timothy Barks of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Calle Don Andres, Bernalillo. Family and friends are invited to attend the service, a reception at the church and the continued celebration at Jean's home. DILLON -- Maurice Malcolm Dillon, "Mac", died on November 18th , 2010. Passionate all his life about science, he believed in education and modeled life-long learning. He loved classical music and beautiful voices such as The Three Tenors. He fiercely loved his family and one of his strongest desires was for his children to be happy and healthy. One of the reasons for his long life is that he took care of his health. He exercised regularly, took vitamins, never smoked a cigarette or drank alcohol or even coffee! Betty was born March 16, 1914, to Ralph W. and Zella Walser Staver in Bluffton, Indiana, and moved as a child with her family to Clyde, Ohio, where she grew up, studying piano and organ, attending Heidelberg College (Ohio) for short time, playing organ for her church, and working in her parents' variety store until her marriage. A devoted homemaker, she embraced the challenges of military life and its many geographic relocations, including time in Mississippi, Alaska, Georgia, New York, Alabama, and California, until settling in Albuquerque in 1956. In addition to her passion for the pipe organ and classical music generally, she pursued other interests with equal enthusiasm: birdwatching, gourmet cooking, rose gardening, and raising and training dogs - but her greatest joy was family and friends, both near and far. She was an active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, where she served as Elder and Deaconess, and was an avid supporter of music programs at the church. Betty is survived by her husband Ken; and daughter Suzanne (Suzi) Dressler and her husband Jim, also of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Martha Jones. A memorial service celebrating the life of Betty Gephart will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 3605 Silver Ave. SE, on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place, with the ashes to be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery at some future time. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to the Immanuel Presbyterian Church Organ Fund or a charity of your choice.

MURRAY -- Gladys Murray was born on July 5, 1914 and passed away at the age of 96 on November 15, 2010. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Karen Baker; son-in-law, Mike Baker; and granddaughter, Kim Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dunckley; and her grandson, Robby. Along with being devoted to her family, Gladys was also devoted to music. She was pulled out of school in 8th grade because they thought she was going blind, but in reality she was only nearsighted, so she started teaching piano lessons. This initiated her lifelong dedication to music. In the 1930's, despite not knowing anyone in California, she moved from Elmhurst, Illinois to Los Angeles. There she met and married Robert Dunckley Murray, and they spent their life together in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Los Gatos, California. Gladys always had a quick wit and was a spelling wiz. She enjoyed playing scrabble with her family, where she was known to occasionally invent new words. Then in true Gladys fashion, this would be followed by a fresh batch of cookies. Gladys saw a lot of life in her 96 years. As an organist, choir director and music composer, she was highly involved in church music. She completed many trainings, classes and even earned an Associate's degree in music. A celebration of life will be held at the Sandia Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm. STOCKTON -- Bobbi Lynn Stockton, 30, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2010. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, December 10, 1979. It brings comfort to all of our hearts knowing she is now in peace in heaven with her Father. Our precious Bobbi was such a blessing and a great gift from God. Some of our best memories came from the last few months we shared with her. Her two children were everything to her and she was so proud of them. She was proud of Daisy, who just made honor roll and she shared a love of WWE with Phillip. She treasured the walks that she had with her children where they could share their deep and meaningful thoughts that only a mother could understand. She loved the "love bites" from her mom who seemed to sneak them in daily. Her mom was her best friend and her mom couldn't have asked for a more loving and loyal companion. Bobbi we love you and we will cherish our memories until we see you again in heaven. We will miss your ever changing hair color and your fuzzy socks. Bobbi in this tragedy, you have given hope to others by giving a life through your kidney and liver donation. The gift of life is the best gift of all. Bobbi was a precious mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children Daisy King, 12, and Phillip King, 10; mother, Kathy Stockton; father, Robert Stockton and wife, Patricia; sister, Charla Garcia and husband, Octavio; and children, Brandon and Trystan, sister, Sherri Wipperman and husband, Les and daughter, Brittney; brother, Robert Stockton Jr. and wife Becki, brother Eric Stockton and wife Amber; grandparents, Charles and Claire Fenolio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, great- nieces and nephews, great aunts and uncles, and friends who loved her.
